But tokens are like reputation that you can transfer to other characters. Why wouldn't you want that?

    They aren't thinking, or they like the grind because they consider themselves hardcore and you should to you casul.

  • The problem I have with tokens is they have completely replaced the Reputation system and Post Game Carnage Report loot drops. Activities no longer directly reward you with actual, meaningful gear, with exception to the raid, and it cheapens the experience. I would like the post game carnage report loot drops brought back along with the old reputation system where you earn reputation for your activity completions, maybe even bit more for doing well. Reward packages should drop for each increase in reputation level. They can keep the tokens, but use them as dedicated currency to directly purchase gear from the vendor (like strange coins for Xur in D1), with increased tiers of gear unlocking with your increased reputation rank. Tokens can be earned as activity rewards, found in reputation packages, dismantling the event-specific gear (i.e. Iron Banner) or directly purchased with Legendary Shards.

  • So this is the thing with people on the internet. Your issues are all over the place, and frankly super shallow. You say they replaced the rep system. Okay, well it's more that they made rep not get immediately banked and instead made it an item you can then freely distribute between characters. Otherwise it can go straight to your character anyway. There then is a complaint you could make about having to go to the tower or whatever to apply it. However you have to go to the vendor to get things anyway so you're going to be making the trip regardless. You say tokens replaced post game carnage loot drops. When in reality activities still have them, like crucible, and adventures. Strikes had theirs moved to the chest at the end, which is after the game lol. Not only that but items players use add to this and can be arbitrarily displayed on the screen without being an item in the world. You then go into how activities no longer directly reward you with actual meaningful gear. They never really did, not even in D1. If your light was at or above what the activity offers that's how it is. Tokens have nothing to do with that, and D2 is managed in that same way. Progression is just ass in general because they use it to retain players and influence population of activities instead of just being fun. You then go through a list of features you just want based on how you want reputation and rewards to work? Including making tokens only able to purchase items directly. Even when they weren't actually harming anything, and had some actual positives as was established. Okay? So you want things done in your subjectively preferred manner. This is the kind of feedback that doesn't get the game actually anywhere. Wasting time backtracking and changing things that ultimately lead to a game state that is by and large the same thing. What you just did is say I don't like the way they do things while not recognizing how you would do things would result in the same thing we have. About the only things worthwhile you said are that the game wasn't rewarding enough, which is a dime a dozen comment. Other than that faction packages should return, and tiered rewards. Whatever that means because gear in this game is designed to not be straight better unless it is by light. None of this is a token and generally how reputation is applied issue, which was the topic. Instead it's a bungie one.
