Mass Effect 1 Side Quests Help Needed

I'm at the last stretch of the game and my first time ever playing a Mass Effect game and ant to know if there are any side quests that do anything major for ME2&3. I've already done everyones loyalty mission and heard finding 10 Asari writing does something for ME3 and I already have 7 with just playing the game. I heard the Cerberus quest do something, but do they do anything beyond lore and an email? I really have no idea why I waited this long. Man, this game is good, even with the super bland open worlds. Oh, yeah I already got a million credits if that does anything(heard it did and didn't even try. I just had a freaking ton of VII and blow mods after Vimire and sold everything that was worse than what I was using) I have also done the x57 or whatever DLC quest and the kill the rogue VI on the moon as well.

  • https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps3/684758-mass-effect-trilogy/faqs/69336 There's a codex of all 3 games. At the bottom of mass effect 1 you'll see "important missions", "semi important missions" and "non important" missions. Bear in mind the codex may give slight spoilers so if it bothers you then I can try to get the name of the missions by themselves if you want them (will take some time). If you go by the codex, doing everything important and semi important should do it for you. Doing them will do a few things that'll carry over into the other games which I won't spoil unless you want to know. I will say some can be minimal but it still reconizes you doing them in the previous game. There is to many quests for me to just name off that can have an impact in future games, hence me linking a codex for a quick answer. I take it you're trying the whole trilogy then? Cause mass effect is a -blam!-ing masterpiece of a franchise and you should have fun with it. You'll definitely see improvements on certain things in each game as well (the bland worlds will be gone in ME2-3) and the characters in the franchise will get close to your heart as you progress through the trilogy.

    • Don't kill the Queen and send Kaiden instead of Ashley. You'll know what I'm talking about when you get to those choices.

      • A few things I can think of offhand; 1. Conrad Verner - you find out has a doctorate in Xenotechnology and Dark Energy (ME3), talking to him on the Citadel Docking Bay, he can get you help for building the catalyst. 2. Matriarch Dilinaga's collection - it helps out Conrad and gives you points for retaking Earth. 3. Asteroid X57 gets you an email and you encounter Balik again. 4. Prothean Data Caches - needed for Conrad to help you. 5. Save the Scientists just gets a glitched msg on Ilium either saving them all or not. 7. Mineral Collection - gets you bonus starting in ME2 and something minorly helpful in ME3. 8. Pinnacle Station you have a bonus turian commando unit if you get all the high scores (and more VP), not a huge deal, but useful. 9. Lastly, Wrex's Armor. Keep him alive on Virmire, but you need to do that mission to talk him down and all his dialogue convo on the Normandy. Otherwise you get Wrex's brother who will be uniting Krogan under his banner of Clan Urdnot and is a stereotypical Krogan and a reason to keep the genophage. That's all I can think of, I've had 25 Shepard's go thru ME(1).

        • Started Mass Effect 2. Man the graphics are better and it's no where near as janky combat wise.

Make sure you finish talking to the one super fanboy guy all the way so you can continue that side story across the games. Think his name is Vernon

          • The is one that was a DLC surrounding Batarian Terrorist trying to crash an asteroid onto human colony. Did you do that one?

            • If I recall correctly, the side quests done in ME-2 really have a pivital outcome in ME-3. I don't recall what to do in ME-1 that affect progress in ME-2, but I'm pretty sure you can "Google" it. There has to be some info on them.

              • Wish I could help, but it’s just been too long since I played it. I beat the game at least 10 times, but most of it is a blur at this point. Maybe it’s time for #11.
