A already commented once, but I've got 2 more things:
1. Can you explain why you have a completely different system than your friends? It sounds a lot like back when PS3 and 360 came out and people complained about not having anyone to play with after buying the opposite system of all their friends.
2. Is it really that hard to find new online friends to play with? My best friend and I played mainly with each other during year 1 of Destiny, but it wasn't hard to find a clan and get to know them before TTK came out and we now have made a new clan where we not only play D2, but other games as well.

I think when it comes to why he chose pc over consoles, it could have been for a number of reasons. Maybe he wanted 60fps. Maybe his friends said they would get it for pc and didn't. I am purely speculating. Honestly I am curious as well. Finding new online friends in D2 is a double edge sword really. Either people have tons of friends that are somewhat active, or they have all left. So for the people that are active, its easy and nothing to it. For the players that their friends left, its a bit of a steep slope. Kinda like LFG. Either you have the clears and can get together a team in a few mins, or you have no clears and no one will give you a thought. Almost like Ghorn.
