I feel as if this was needed ever since the Xol epidemic, as some people didn’t understand what he meant by, “drowning in the deep”. Very well said!

<There are some who still believe the Darkness was removed from Destiny entirely. There are less references in D2 than there were in D1, but the references in D2 make it sound much more powerful. It's one of the things they definitely got right.>
-
Bungie actually said at the release of destiny 2 that there wouldn't be any references to the darkness. And while for the most part that has remained true, they must have realized you can't just leave the darkness out, so they added a few references to it. Good save Bungie.👍 I want to see more of the darkness though.
-
<Clearly they didn't intend that because the mother -blam!-ing Darkness is seen in 3 different cutscenes. And we will... IT is coming.>
-
Could you tell me which cut scenes just so I know we're on the same page.
-
<The intro to D2 cutscene before the character screen when you start up the game for the VERY FIRST TIME. The one where Nolanbot sums up the universe. There's a triangle shape hovering above a City and shadows the Traveler. Ghost calls it the Traveler's "ancient enemy". The Traveler's Dream cutscene at the beginning of mission 2, Adieu. There are triangular shadows hovering over the Io shot and there's another bit with about 9 of them plunging into the water. Finally, the end credits, where we see the damn thing wake up.>
-
I didn't see the first one because my brother started the game before I did so I didn't get to see it, I did see all the other ones though but I thought those were hive ships not the pure darkness.
-
<If those were Hive Ships then there wouldn't be a crew to wake up.>

Edited by CrankyGolem068: 6/28/2018 10:53:10 PMHey you never know. Plus I was in doubt that the darkness had a physical form like that. I always thought of it more as a living shadow.

I can agree with that. Quality over quantity is most certainly better.
-
I mean, that's not exactly hard to understand. Idiots... idiots everywhere. meme intensifies
-
Eh, some people also didn’t read grimoire, so they didn’t even know that the deep existed. But yes, i do agree, idiots will be idiots lol.
-
If they never read the Grimoire, I don't think they have a right to propose theories and spread confusion, lmao. Honestly, though, anyone who cares about Destiny's story has read the Grimoire... if you haven't, you have no idea what's going on, lol.
-
Very true, though with all of the strange inconsistencies with this game and the grimoire, it’s hard to tell what is real and what isn’t nowadays lol.
-
All the inconsistencies came with D2 (still salty af about that) and pretty much all of them relate to Warmind. The rest are super minor pertaining to comics and who appears when/where. It's not too terribly confusing, but extremely annoying. The Grimoire and "old lore" is sacred to me. Messing up and retconning it really sucks, but thankfully they haven't done too much of that. Honestly, what scares me the most is the dlc's to come. With D2 tackling REALLY big things in the lore (Osiris, Rasputin, the Awoken, etc.) they start running into super complicated lore and minute details. I'm afraid that they'll screw things up that are beloved to us in the lore. For example, I was one of the people who really liked the idea that the Worm gods were dragons. Welp, I guess that's down the drain. I also like the idea that Osiris was in a constant state of radiance. Boom, that's gone. What was Osiris' grand plan? The mystery behind his disappearance? Well, the answers are pretty disappointing. How would we get Rasputin on our side? A rogue AI with no love for humanity? Would we ever delve into Charlemagne's Vaults? All retconned. Now what's next? Will they screw up the Awoken lore? We know so little definite answers, but we know SO much about them. Many Grimoire cards hint at their nature. They are connected to both the light and the dark, have the darkness and light in them, they are connected to the void, etc. We know they live on 4 Vesta in the Vestian Web. We know the Queen can enter the Void... I'm just afraid that they'll mess it up. I'm still hopeful. I'm just slightly worried.

Even so...common sense symbolism
