Flames and ash covered the starry sky. Black wisps could be seen twisting and turning in the air, and grey smoke blotted out the moon. A huge volcano could be seen under the hellish sky, about as tall as a skyscraper, spewing out lava and flames. The base of the mountain was covered in molten rock, and red-hot lava slid down from the top of the volcano, like streaks of red string. A huge pool of lava is seen at the top, and smoke pours out of it like a liquid of some sort. Little rocky platforms could be seen above the surface of the lava pool. A team of twelve is seen standing on a rocky platform in the middle of the hellish lake. Hammerfist takes a look around him, and he carefully observes the pool. It seemed to stretch forever...
“Damn... why was that plane so cramped?” Says Foofer, interrupting Hammerfist’s concentration.
Hammerfist closes his eyes, trying to focus. Robo Owl, sitting on his Owl mech, responds to Foofer’s comment...
“Hoo cares? At least we got to Flammaetoris’ home.”
ImmaDrizzit turns to Cell-3, and starts to speak...
“So... where’s this beast that we seek?”
Cell-3 points towards a hole in the wall of the rocky bowl on top of the volcano, present in the perimeter of the lava pool...
“If we go through that hole to our left, it should lead us to the lava springs. Let’s hope we get there before one of Draksos’ apprentices do.” He says.
SovietSpaceKitty begins to speak as Phoenix touches the lava, feeling it and smiling...
“There’s a string of platforms leading towards the hole. But they’re way too far apart to form a bridge.”
Suddenly, TotallyNotThor runs to the edge of the platform, facing the hole, his face filled with determination. His arms fill with green energy, and bark starts to emerge out of the platform’s edge, stretching towards the hole until it forms a complete bridge...
“Quick! This bark can’t hold up forever against the flames of nature...”
TotallyNotThor crosses the bridge first, swiftly running as flames erupt beside him. He is followed by Artemis, Robo Owl, and Hammerfist, and then by Cell-3, Foofer, ManofLight, SovietSpaceKitty, ImmaDrizzit, Diana, and Deatheater. Phoenix simply swims to the other side, and he does so effortlessly and with slight joy. Cell-3 pushes to the front of the group and leads them down the hole. They find themselves inside a downwards spiraling tunnel. Phoenix lights his hand on fire to provide light in the darkness of the tunnel. After a few minutes of continuous walking and bad puns, the team reaches what seems to be the inside of the volcano. They stand atop a cliff, and below them is a floor of molten rock, littered with stalagmites and little pools of lava. Flames rise out of little mounds in the ground, spewing out in a steady stream of orange and red. A roof of molten rock can be seen above, waiting to crumble. Cell-3 breaks the silence as the group continues to carefully take in the environment...
“Well... Here we are...” he says as he points to a giant hill with a flat top in the middle of the underground space. On top of it is a monstrosity like no other, about thirty feet in length. A pile of black scales, resembling the shape of a dragon. Out of its mouth, two gleaming red teeth slip out for a brief moment. Its claws are red with a few black accents. Its body is completely black, with a few veins of red streaks running through it. Its folded wings are bony, and near skeletal. They are adorned in thin black scales. Its tail shakes sideways with great force, and on the end of it is a little burning flame. Orange jagged spikes are present on its elbows and back. On its head are two giant twisted horns, drenched in lava. Its head moves as its tongue leaves its fiery mouth, letting smoke out of its nostrils in the process. It begins to open its fire-red eyes. Cell-3 speaks in a fearful tone...
“Something’s not right. It’s supposed to be dead. Did... did the apprentice get here before us and revive it?”
“Yes, you pile of scrap metal.” A voice echoes in the chamber, in a gruff tone.
The team looks to their left towards a stone pillar, where the voice has originated, and on top of it stands a muscular man with an eyepatch and a scar on his face. His hair is tied back in a bun, and a grim smile widens on his face.
“Zen! Damnit! He got here before us!” Yells out Cell-3, his voice glitching out.
“I’ll be sure to tell Master Draksos about our little meeting. Unfortunately you won’t be joining me. Enjoy fighting our little pet here...” Says the muscular figure known as Zen as he jumps off of the stone pillar and seemingly disappears from sight.
“Where did he go?” Says SovietSpaceKitty with curiosity.
“Yeah, like that’s our biggest problem.” Says ManofLight in his usual sarcastic voice as he points towards the flying flaming monstrosity known as Flammaetoris. It hovers in midair in front of them.
“We can’t let it leave to DarkSpire Tower! If it manages to, it will have enough power to open the portal, and you know what happens from there!” Says Cell-3.
His voice is barely audible over the roars of Flammaetoris, who is getting ready to break the roof of the rocky space and escape out of the volcano. Artemis shoots an arrow at it, and it digs into its dark scales.
“Come on, we’ll need more than that guys! Help me hunt this prey! I want to make a trophy out of it!” Yells Artemis at the top of her lungs, and with that, Deatheater jumps from the cliff down to the rocky floor and lands with a roll. The rest of the team follows him, except for Foofer, who is repelling the dragon from reaching the roof of the room by a spell of some sort. Each blue wisp from his hand hits the dragon’s scaly coat and dissipates into smoke, making the dragon recoil and land. The dragon settles itself in front of the group, and it roars with enough power to make the stalactites above it fall down. The team starts to spread out, and they start attacking. ManofLight disappears into a shadow and reappears constantly as the dragon swipes at the ground around it, Robo Owl is unloading shells of rockets at the dragon, and Phoenix throws spinning balls of fire at the abomination, each exploding into a wave of heat as it hits the dragon’s head, staggering it. The dragon opens its mouth, revealing its orange glowing teeth, organized into two rows, and it spews out a beam of fire. The beam nearly hits Deatheater, Who has made the attempt to charge at the beast’s mouth, but Artemis rolls into his side and pushes him into the ground next to him, sending them both tumbling for a few feet. Artemis winces as the beam grazes her back, and Deatheater stands back up, swiftly thanking her. The dragon then tilts the beam towards ImmaDrizzit. The Paladin blocks the beam with his shield, his face sweaty as he tries to hold the beam back. SovietSpaceKitty, Who is furiously throwing electric projectiles at the beast, yells out from behind him...
“Try deflecting the beam! According to my calculations, if you tilt your shield to the left a bit, it should hit the dragon in its eye.”
“Save us the math, bud.” Says ManofLight from behind one of TotallyNotThor’s bark shields.
ImmaDrizzit starts to turn his shield to the left, groaning as he positions his feet into the ground. The beam bounces off is his shield, and it hits the dragon in its right eye, burning it. The dragon shrieks, and it falls to the ground temporarily. Hammerfist runs towards it and disappears for a brief moment, and reappears next to its horn, and he starts slicing at the beasts’ left eye. Where Cell-3’s hands once were emerge gun barrels, and he unloads bullets at the dragon’s wings, standing behind bark cover created by TotallyNotThor. Deatheater uses his scythe to dig into the dragon’s side, Black blood spurting out of the dragon as he pulls his scythe back out of its side. The dragon roars in pain, and starts to get up. It swipes its tail in a full circle, hitting everyone around it but Foofer, Who is still on top of the cliff. Foofer desperately tries to control the dragon...
“I...can’t... control it... it’s too angered!” Yells out Foofer as he puts his scaly clawed hand on his forehead, but his voice is not heard by the team, who is knocked out on the ground.
Diana is knocked back into a giant rock, and she goes unconscious. ImmaDrizzit grunts as he is hit by the tail, and he staggers a little, but he swiftly sprints to help Diana up. TotallyNotThor lays on the ground for a while, stunned by the dragon’s tail, but he pushes himself up and forms a bark wall in front of Diana, providing cover for the fallen medic.
“Damn... try not to get hit! Our healer is knocked out!” Yells out Hammerfist, trying to avoid the dragon’s swipes.
“Oh Heal No!” Says Robo Owl in fear.
Artemis sighs furiously and continues to fire a poison arrow at the dragon. By now, Black fluid is oozing out of the dragon’s sides and eyes. Scales are ripped off of certain parts of its body. Its left wing is slightly tattered. One of its teeth is on the ground, and its right eye is seared. Suddenly an orange aura glows around it, and all projectiles bounce off of it. SovietSpaceKitty looks at it with a worried look...

6 RepliesEdited by Cell-3: 6/18/2018 2:04:56 AM“What’s it doing?” He says in a fearful tone. “Get back! It’s going to stir up a nova!” Says Cell-3 in a robotic voice that sounded unnatural for the likes of him. Cell-3 pops up a dome around ImmaDrizzit and TotallyNotThor, who are still standing beside Diana next to the bark cover. He signals the rest of the team to rush inside the dome as it starts to form. As the team flies past him to the dome, he looks back up to the cliff in extreme fear... “Foofer! Get down here!” He yells. His voice is nothing but a whisper to Foofer, and he is busy concentrating on controlling the dragon. Suddenly ImmaDrizzit rushes out of the metal dome right before it fully forms around the team, and yells at a voice louder than the cries of the dragon... “Foofer! My shield, for you!” He shouts as he throws his shield at Foofer. The shield seems to magically fly through the air to the top of the cliff, spinning and whirling through the air with perfect accuracy, as if it was possessed, and the shield magically floats in front of Foofer. Foofer, bewildered, ducks behind the shield. The dragon roars with an ear-piercing shriek, and its aura grows bigger and bigger. “Cell! Get behind me!” Yells the Paladin. By now, Cell-3 and ImmaDrizzit have positioned themselves just outside of the metal dome formed by Cell. The dome had fully closed, so they were temporarily locked out while the rest of the team except for Foofer took refuge inside the metal mechanism. Before Cell-3 could sprint behind the shield-less Paladin, Who was shielding himself with one armored arm, the dragon lets out a giant blinding explosion. The explosion fills the room, raining fire everywhere and causing catastrophic damage. Rocks evaporated into ashes, and lava was flung up into the air, soon to be evaporated. After a few seconds, the blinding light had died down, and the dragon could be seen again, but with an unscathed body, as if it was never damaged. Its right eye was functional again, and scales fully covered its body. Foofer emerges out of the cover of the Paladin’s shield, which has ashes all over it. The Paladin’s shield goes flying back to ImmaDrizzit, who is bleeding in his side from a rock that had impaled him in the explosion. His armor was heavily damaged, and some of it starting to fall off. He was on his knees, gasping for air as he held his side with one hand, trying to stop the bleeding. His shield lands on the ground next to him. Cell stands still right next to ImmaDrizzit, but sparks come out all over his mechanical body, and his right arm has fell to the floor, detached. He tries to shoot at the dragon with his remaining arm, only to be met by a beam of flame and lava, knocking him down. It hits ImmaDrizzit, and he is sent crashing into the dome, hitting it with a loud clang. He falls down to the ground, unable to fight. The dome suddenly collapses as Deatheater cuts through it with a scythe, and he whispers in a tone of grimness... “Death would be adored to meet you dragon... your reign ends....” “It seems to have... regenerated?!” Says SovietSpaceKitty, starting at the unscathed dragon with surprise. “We need to kill this thing fast before it regenerates again!” Says Hammerfist in response. He sits right next to Diana behind the bark wall, who is still knocked out. Artemis points to two bodies laying on the rocky ground. “Cell-3 and ImmaDrizzit! They’ve been hit!” She says. Foofer waves from the top of the cliff, signaling his survival, and Artemis sighs in relief. The dragon swipes its orange claws at ManofLight, Who is trying to get in close, and the strike sends him flying to the ground behind him, slowly skidding to a stop next to Deatheater. “I have.... a plan.... Artemis.... shoot an arrow at the dragon’s mouth... and Phoenix.... light my scythe on fire...” Says Deatheater. Artemis, confused, notches an arrow on her bowstring and draws the string back. Phoenix lights Deatheater’s scythe alight with a snap of his fingers. The scythe burns with a dark red flame. “Now... when the dragon roars.... shoot the arrow into its mouth...” Says Deatheater... “Wait.... you’re not thinking of...” Says ManofLight as he trails off into thought, still lying on the ground from the dragon’s swipe. “Do it...” Says Deatheater as the dragon opens its mouth to let out another terrifying roar. Artemis releases the arrow, and it flies towards the dragon’s mouth. Deatheater runs towards the arrow, and he jumps up, flips in the air, and lands both of his feet on the arrow’s shaft. He holds his scythe with both hands as he stares into the dragon’s eyes with a fierce look... “Your soul... shall be mine...” he whispers as the arrow reaches the dragon’s mouth. Deatheater jumps up again off the arrow as it flies into the beast’s mouth, and he spins his scythe around in midair, above the dragon’s head, creating a wheel of flame around him. He lands on top of the dragon’s head, and his scythe, swinging around him with full power, strikes the dragon’s neck. The dragon shrieks and falls to its side, exposing its stomach. It chokes on the arrow, and black blood bursts out of its neck. Deatheater points to Hammerfist. “You know what to do...” Says Deatheater as he lands on the ground in front of the dragon’s head, absorbing its soul. Red energy emerges out of the dragon’s body and it swirls into Deatheater’s hand, making his hand turn skeletal. Deatheater lets out a grim chuckle, and his eyes under his hood turn red. Hammerfist appears out of nowhere beside the dragon’s stomach, and, after holding his blade for a few seconds, he drags it across the dragon’s underbelly, creating a huge gash along the dragon’s underside. Black fluid oozes out, and the dragon tries to roar, but it seems to have lost its voice. Deatheater laughs grimly as the red energy comes out of the dragon at a faster pace, and then, he holds his scythe, and finishes the dragon off with one last swipe. His scythe is still flaming, but red energy surrounds it, and it strikes the dragon’s tongue as it tries to roar, cutting it off. The tip of its tongue hits the floor in front of deatheater, wiggling for a bit before becoming motionless. The dragon whimpers one last time, before the orange glow inside it dies down. Its orange teeth blacken, and its eyes’ red glow dies down. It lays there, motionless. Robo Owl, Who is standing next to Cell’s body, starts to look at it in awe... “Did... did we just kill a great dragon?” He says in a surprised voice. “Yes...... yes we... have...” Says Cell-3 in a Robotic yet stuttering voice as he lifts his head up, staring at the dead dragon. The team was victorious. Flammaetoris, the dragon of flame, had been defeated. [spoiler]Feedback is appreciated.
