The thing you mentioned about how taking Vex is a suicidal action. This part has always bugged me since I first heard this line in D2. Is this something that was always a thing in the Lore and is only now being said in game by someone or did I miss something in D1?
If taking Vex has always been suicidal, why are we only hearing about it now? Asher even seemingly implies the Taken know that taking Vex is a bad idea, so if they know that to be true, the calculated risk idea that Ikora says is true. Taking Vex works but it seems to be only temporary Maybe Oryx didnt know that was the case? It's possible but somehow it seems unlikely considering it was a power he had, unless even he didnt fully understand his own power. Same applies to Savathun.
I dont know. Like I said, this part always bugged and confused me because with this context, it means that taking Vex is a short term gain and ultimately pointless. However, this also does mean that Quria will eventually regain its own will and turn against Savathun.
Let me be clear, I'm not against this being a thing. I think it's interesting that the process of Taking only works on Vex temporarily and is ultimately a bad idea in the long run and also shows that the power of Taking is not without its flaws and doesn't fully work on everything. Not to mention it also gives the Vex more depth in terms of what they can fight back against and makes them one of the only few races, if not the only race, that can reverse the process of Taking (Which is also interesting seeing as how they seemingly cannot simulate Taken in the Infinite Forest but that's a whole different topic). I guess I'm more annoyed they didnt explore the "Taking Vex is suicidal" concept more in the game once it was brought up.

<Maybe the Vex developed this tech during the Taken War and it was too late for those previously corrupted. Perhaps it was always known and that taking the Vex was a short-term thing... just Oryx and co knew how to deal with it while Savathun's brood won't. Maybe Savathun doesn't know the full extent to her abilities and Oryx did, which led to his Taken Vex being permanent while that who doesn't understand its abilities entirely will fall. If this is true, then Savathun must communicate with the Deep via the Tablets of Ruin. She'll know what to do next.>
