No. If winning is that important, then you probably need to join a clan, and work with a fireteam. Its frustrating to watch people ignore the game objectives to fulfill their own goals, but its not realistic to expect that this WON"T happen if you're playing with anonymous people in random matchmaking. That kind of behavior is precisely why Bungie refuses to put MM in Trials or the Raids. Because if you think that kind of behavior is tilting you regular Crucible? Wait till someone pulls that crap on you when they are part of your Raid or Trials team. Then leaves you in the lurch as soon as they've gotten their bounties done......

 • So to encourage people to get to that level and depth of the game they ruin their experience? Seems logical. I understand the reasoning, and I clearly disagree with it. As I have disagreed with giving exp to the losing team since COD started that garbage. Why would I join a clan for PVP when 50% of my experience of PVP has discouraged me from even going to the Crucible? Like to experience the game as advertised, I have to actively seek out the experience outside of game? Seems like bad design but sure I guess

 • They should be encouraging people to take PVP seriously if they want to have a "competitive" scene or more "watchable" pvp. Getting more players involved is how you get a higher skill cap. I mean it just seems like they just put it in as something to grind, not help people improve their pvp capabilities or team work/tactics. Which if you look at literally every single competitive or highly streamed SHOOTING GAME is a massive element of the scene and what excites and entices new players. Shroud playig PUBG, getting those profile players (Not golathion lol) and making your game respected. I dunno if blizzard just said screw it buy overwatch if you want legit pvp but it certainly seems that way. And I'd probably just play Paladins, the free and very well reviewed Overwatch.

 •
Which if you look at literally every single competitive or highly streamed SHOOTING GAME is a massive element of the scene and what excites and entices new players.
Destiny is neither a pure shooting game, nor a truly competitive shooting game. A point that Bungie---to the detriment of the franchise, imo---has failed to realize. Destiny is an MMO/loot-based RPG/FPS hybrid. One that is trying to appeal to a very broad audience, all of whom want VERY different things from this game. And you've got gamers from across the spectrum of gaming....who aren't used to rubbing shoulders with one another...all trying to live under the same roof. The more narrow (or specialized, depending on your point of view) the game experience you're seeking....the less likely you are (imo) to find THIS game satisfying. The reality is that the "loot grind" is a HUGE part of the appeal of this game to the vast majority of the player base....and the effort to eliminate that from the game in order to appeal to players more like yourself (looking for more of that pure competitive shooter experience).... ...nearly destroyed the franchise's appeal to the majority of its players. The fact is that this game will never truly appeal to someone looking for a pure competitive shooter experience. Because it would require that Bungie basically DESTROY the PVE side of the game. They came dangerously close to doing that with vanilla D2...and I dont' think they'll ever go that route again. So it may be in your interests to get that "itch" scratched for you by a different game.

 • I hear you that it may not be for me. I'm just dissapointed that the PVE is great and the pvp is a complete buzzkill

 • I am fine with grinds, I was for may seasons contesting top leaderboards in D3. I have no issue with a grindy game. What I do have issue with is the fact that casual players who have no interest in PVP are forced to PVP. WOW didn't have that issue, so I fail to see why a game attempting to clone their style with a different theme should suffer? I'm not even asking for skill based matchmaking (which I've already read is a joke even on the competitive and trial system). So yeah it seems like the PVP is catered, even at high levels to PVE players. Which is to be blunt, just stupid. It may be profitable but that sort of garbage mentality is what has and is ruining the gaming industry. Casuals are the reason loot boxes exist, the reason that Battlefront caused a whole hullabaloo. When you make a good game, people play it regardless (Skyrim, Witcher 3, Game of the Year material games you know?). When you make a game catered to casuals it dies quickly, see 90% of early access games who listen to the majority of the pop instead of beta testers, just die, dead in the water before release because nobody wants to play that garbage. If making PVP balanced kills your population you shouldn't have had PVP to begin with it's thats simple. If you have pseudo pvp, don't label the game as pvp.

 • So I guess I just find it literally counter to their stated objective to not encourage good play? Which confuses me and frustrates me as that was what they advertised in their game
