How dare expansions cost extra money
I don't have an issue paying for expansions. I have an issue when I pay for a season pass and then end up having to pay for another season pass. On top of that, the two 'expansions' they added were merely just updates and added very little new content. Which was super overpriced when you compare them to the first two expansion from Destiny 1. We are being ripped off and Bungie isn't even trying to hide it and you are proof that people are happy to be ripped off. I'm sorry but I refuse to pay $90+ dollars TWICE just to get MAYBE the full experience that they are planning. That's why I refuse to buy anything else from them. How do I know that I won't pay 90+ dollars and then after 2019 they do the exact same thing again? Even if they don't, I'm sure Destiny 3 will be on the horizon by then as well and that's going to be another money pit to get trapped in. Whatever backlash Bungie is getting from this, they deserve.

Again. ALL. PLANNED. MAJOR. DLC. CONTENT. From what I hear, nobody knew Bungie was even planning this content and that's actually what makes it worse. It's like they are releasing Destiny 2.5 and treating it like a separate game altogether. If they want to do it year by year then they need to call it "Yearly Passes" like other online games do. Then it would have been expected and understood and I wouldn't have bought the game in the first place. Problem solved.

 • If you just hate bungie and this game so much, why don't you just go play a different game and leave the forums. Why just linger here just to annoy people? If you hated D2 so far, why even bother with the new dlc and why did you expect that a Forsaken and/or the annual pass wouldn't cost money?

That's WHY I'm disappointed in Bungie. It's like if you are disappointed in your child for screwing up and encourage them to do better. You haven't been focusing on the main point. IT'S. NOT. ABOUT. EXPECTING. FREE. CONTENT. It's about getting what the -blam!- I paid for and I didn't. It's about the fact that I paid for a "season pass" that was nothing but a glorified update and then if I want to keep playing and keep up to date with everyone else, I have to pay $40 bucks PLUS $30 bucks to make sure I get the other content. Which I'm sure that the next "small" DLC packs are going to be glorified updates as well. Have you been around since D1? Just curious. Because with D1, if you paid for the Season Pass you got WAY more content than the shit they did this game. See, I paid for the Digital Deluxe Edition thinking that the Season Pass content was going to be great. That they would add a new raid, new interesting storylines (that last more than 2 hours), etc. It's about expecting them to provide me with a satisfying product that I paid them for and not getting it. As a consumer you have a right to expect a good product out of something you pay for and Bungie didn't deliver. Now they are saying, "Pay $70 more bucks and we promise it'll be good this time." -blam!-. THAT. I'm trying to make them take notice that they severely -blam!-ed up and lost a loyal customer and I hope they lose enough customers to understand they can't -blam!-ing keep price gouging people. I supported them with my money and apparently they haven't used my money to make shit except disappointment.

 • "You got way more stuff from D1's season pass" Yeah you got Dark Below's -4 total missions -1 strike -Some of the saddest exotics I've ever seen -The buggiest and shortest stri-RAID ive ever played -No new area to explore at all And HoW's -No new patrol area... again -PoE in a sad replacement for a raid -The worst meta in all of Destiny history -A decent story about the same length as Warmind -Trials of The Last Thorn -And the longest content drought in all of history

 • Oh, so you do understand the frustration of paying for a product that Bungie didn't deliver on. Good. So why the hell are we even debating this topic. Regardless of what you just listed, D1's Season Pass content had more than D2's season pass content. D2 out of both contents, didn't even come out with a new raid or even a new mini-mode like PoE. They have the Escalation Protocol but yay. Now you can create your own Public Event. Congrats. Fact is, I am making a decision to save my money. There are going to be other games out there that I'd rather spend my money on. Honestly, single player games are where it's at. Because even though they also have DLC, it's primarily single player experience so they have few ways of ripping you off without being super obvious and losing precious customers.

 • The next season pass is for 2019 content AFAIK, so it's literally the next season....

 • It's to fund content that like in D1 and year 1 D2 was funded by Eververse microtransactions …. So will Eververse go away then?

 • IDK. And we don't really know how big the content drops are, so save all the outrage until we get more information closer to release.

 • I'll wait until I see content that is worth more than what they charge. At this point nothing I have been paid for is worth what I got.

 •
The next season pass is for 2019 content AFAIK, so it's literally the next season....
Yeah no. Sorry, but that's bullshit. Borderlands 2 had a season pass that included all 4 of the major add on expansions and the first 11 level upgrade pack. Those four packs of DLC also stretched to other seasons but that didn't mean Gearbox was going to charge for multiple season passes on that. The only thing their season pass didn't include was: - Both of the new add on characters - The next level cap increase (which included digistruct peak) - And the headhunter missions along with the many cosmetic skins that could be purchased. So if you weren't the lucky person who waited and bought the Borderlands 2 Game of the Year edition (Which still didn't include the last level cap expansion), then the only thing you had to buy were the two characters and the last level cap expansion. The point isn't that Gearbox did leave some content out, the point is that the season pass included like 95% of what they Game of the Year Edition later had. So anyone who bought the vanilla game and the season pass actually didn't get ripped off and were only out maybe like 10 bucks since the season pass didn't include the two characters. That's it. They had to pay just $10 more to get the exact same content that the Game of the Year Edition had. Either way, the concept of charging a season pass every season is -blam!-ing ridiculous and completely out of the ordinary. I want you to name me another developer that has EVER come out with more than one season pass. Or has charged for a season pass every season. This is more bullshit than when EA's Battlefront came out with a $50 season pass rather than the traditional $30.

 • Still fail to see how one season pass per year (and a year is totally a decent season) is a bad thing? You really wanted all the rest of the content for Destiny for $40? How are they supposed to keep a steady income with a pricing scheme like that? And even if they wanted to give you the expansions for free, devs still have to be paid or said expansion won't be made in the first place. All you guys who get outraged that you have to pay for content need to find an alternate reality where communism actually works.

All you guys who get outraged that you have to pay for content need to find an alternate reality where communism actually works.
Whew that was the funniest thing I've read in a while. You are missing the point and have totally become suckered into Bungie's greedy arms. But it's your money so you do what you want with it. You want to know how Bungie can make income from that scheme? Microtransactions. In Destiny 1, when they introduced Eververse, Bungie made millions if not over a billion dollars in JUST that. Nobody is being outraged at having to pay for content. I gladly paid for my first $90 when Destiny 2 first came out. The problem is what you are expecting to get as a consumer with the money you paid and what you actually get. It's not -blam!-ing communism to have these expectations for a product you're paying for. I just gave you an example of how players who bought the season pass of Borderlands 2 wouldn't have gotten upset since they got almost all of the planned content that was released in the future. They had an expectation and it was fulfilled. I expected the two add-on contents for Destiny 2 to include the same amount of content that were in the first 2 in Destiny 1 (not an unreasonable expectation in my opinion). What I got with my money was just bullshit glorified updates that added two new locations and new weapons with little to nothing else. Didn't even add new raids like Destiny 1 did. Honestly? If they want to do the "multiple season pass" thing, then that's fine. They should do it each season for dedicated players. But don't charge $40 bucks and then tack on another $30 bucks and say "Oh it's a new season so here you go." They can still make money AND keep players happy if they do it that way. I'd be happy to pay an extra $30 bucks for a 2019 season pass which includes the Forsaken DLC (yes I know it's still 2018 when it releases). What a season pass is meant for is actual content, not bullshit glorified updates.

 • They did it with Destiny 1 when the Taken King came out. Stop being a bitch. You want to play the game then buy it. If you don't want to play the game then don't buy it. Its simple.

 •
They didn't release another "season" pass along side Taken King. Wow ....
Right? These guys are -blam!-ing sheep. They are sitting on Bungie's cock asking them to -blam!- them over more and they don't even realized how much of a -blam!-ing scam and smack in the face it is for people who WANT to enjoy the game but continuously get gouged for our money.
