Everyone who plays our game has the right to give their opinions. We just ask you do so in a respectful manner and don't attack or insult anyone in the process. You don't have to be a developer to give feedback on whether something is fun or exciting to play.

You are not a developer anymore. You are a recycling utility.

  • Well, It would also be nice if you at Bungie were respectful back at us consumers. Im sure your version on things like the XP, Eververse, re-skins, cut content, and so on and on and on.. is very different from ours, but when you come out like a von ober version of Bagdad Bob ever so often.. you really need to improve on your skills. Your real intent shines trough that smiley sticker you slap on the surface. I worked both with customer relations, support and in development and you are in many ways a school book example on not how to handle things (at least by our cultural standards here in Europe). I advise you to seek knowledge and look beyond Bungie Hq walls. If you are big and strong , you also have to be nice.. and if you are nice, people are nice back to you.. Keeping pouring gasoline on a dumpster fire as you at Bungie does in a regular manner will not improve the situation.. I hope you will realize that some day.. Put yourself in the customers situation for once.. and you will understand why this place is so toxic..

  • talks about respect, while giving none, and makes no real criticism beyond "you suck". the 'real intent' thats shinning through is an apt metaphor, only not quite where you wanted it to be...

  • Well, there was a time when I took the time provide feedback.. and there was a time when I showed respect for Bungie.. But why should I repeat myself or something that's been said a thousand times when Bungie will not care about that feedback and spit us in the face? I just pointed that out.. You fanbois and apologist is what ruined the game , not the tubers .. its you that every time came to Bungees defence no matter what, you made it possible for them to grow the attitude and come away with anything .. be gone troll!!

  • it looks like personal attacks is all you can "argue" with. yeah im sure its people like me who enjoyed the game from nothing more than vanilla that ruined the game. its not the constant back-and-fourth of cries to nerf or buff everything that confuses bungie on what the players want (an example: at the end of D1, there was a LOT of complaints about ability spam. come D2, and now were complaining about abilities being on way too long a cool-down). im not an apologist nor fanboy; I bought D1 AFTER playing (and thoroughly enjoying) the demo. the game won me on its merits alone, no hype, no popular reviewer personality, no ultra-mega-review score of 10billion, just i liked what i got, and i wanted more. no apologies, only perspective on blatantly ignorant viewpoints, such as those that spew nothing but toxicity try to preach about properly dealing with it. seriously you dont try to get someone to stop drinking by getting drunk off your ass, now do you? but much like what you said, i, too, realize that theres a limit to properly responding to one that does not want to hear it, so ill just be the bigger man and stop replying to you entirely (also, this thread is getting WAY out of hand, and i doubt ill be able to respond again after this lol). PS America > all other countries in the world.

So either the PR team hardly did their job or Bungie just plain doesn’t give a shit, as evident with so many of their decisions off and skewed from player response.

Yeah, context matters. I also gave feedback in a polite, constructive manner for three years. I didn't just bitch about problems, I offered solutions. What did it get me? A game that repeated all of the development cycle mistakes of the first one, and offered up cut content instead of new content with a new engine with new networking systems that they promised. We got a game that nobody asked for, nobody wanted, with changes to everything that was good in ways that nobody could have imagined. I am quite confident that no suggestion was ever read by even the lowliest Bungle employee. Cozmo or Dmg respond to maybe one thread a week, and it's just a single response. One thing catches their eye and they respond, but there's no real interaction and certainly no discourse. I'm sure that they will say that there's no way to find the critique amongst a sea of toxic criticism, but even if true, who's fault is that? These forums are a scattershot, disorganized mess. They essentially stand in a 10,000 seat arena and ask for input, then after listening to 10,000 people yell at once they say, "we're listening." There is absolutely no good mechanism for good input to find its way to those that matter, assuming there's a mechanism at all. This forum could have collected almost four years of data simply by putting up a few weekly poll questions for player voting, with the comments heavily moderated to edit out toxicity, redundancy, and anything that isn't a reasoned opinion on the question at hand or ideas for solutions. There you go, laser focused input on the game's systems and direction, and this occurred to me as a solution after my second or third month on the forums IN 2014. Even if that idea had somehow made its way to someone that mattered, there's a bigger problem. Bungle is stuck on preconceived ideas, takes criticism and critique personally, thinks they know better than the gamer (even though some people like myself have been gaming for 40 years and have seen the entire evolution of this medium since Pong), and can't tell criticism from insults, a good idea from a bad idea, and at this point have been lost in the woods for so long that they can't see the forest for the trees.

  • It's a shame. Because at this point I'm pretty sure bungie's attitude towards their fans, their feedback and even their own feedback forum have driven away the dedicated few who were willing to break down the game and give bit-by-bit analysis and information about what they could do to fix and improve it, and why it's gone wrong. At least those without a heavy bias of needing more content to get paid to play it. What you said is very much correct. Bungie had a huge, diverse fanbase with a wide array of experience and opinions at their hands. People who've been gaming for decades - people who haven't. People who loved the hardcore aspects of the game - people who liked the more casual takes. People were willing to give them all of the information they needed, and wanted. There were a lot of really good ideas in the feedback forum. But as time went on, people gave up. Stopped upvoting topics. Stopped responding to them. Now it's just a place for topics to die when bungie doesn't want criticism to be seen on the front page. It's bewildering to see them make so many missteps with even background systems like shaders and mods when so many people spent pages and pages of text writing up detailed suggestions and ideas for how they could, and should, work in the future. As far back as Destiny 1! People have wanted this stuff to be better for years! They had the prime choice of hundreds of amazing ideas to work off of. And listened to none of them. As a result we have a product people aren't happy with.

  • I’m not a developer and in my opinion D2 has no fun or excitement. It’s flat and boring. Although saying that I did experience fun soloing NF on D1 yesterday. Challenging but fun not something I personally get from D2. I just hope that D3 follows the footsteps of D1 instead of D2.

  • You know what Cozmo, that's something I'd expect from the old Bungie. As the great Satoru Iwata once said: 'On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer.'
