This is the probably the lamest subclass tree I have ever seen in an RPG!

Destiny 2's subclass tree is the probably the lamest subclass tree I have ever seen in an RPG! Like there is lack of perks and there are no mixmatching. IT IS LITTERALLY ONLY TWO CHOICES ON HOW TO PLAY! According to Bungie, they said they made it appeal to casual audiance as one of them were hurt that they were doing it wrong in D1 and by adding this kind of tree, there is no effing it up. edit: What a baby. Like serously Bungie, the D1 subclass tree was not very hard to figure it out, you look at perks you think are trash and not select them. I mean its not like other RPGs where if you have to make choices on what perks to take when you level up. However, in Destiny 1 when you level up, you automatically get perks like snake from left to right! Ironically in Destiny 1, when you level up, you can select what perks you want depending on what level you are with points, but the amount is so underwhelming that you can get all of them with almost no sweat. Please Bungie, please update Destiny 2's subclass tree to have mixmatching or more perks, or maybe even overhaul it!

  • I mean, it's not even a tree; you just pick your pre-built spec and that's it. I wouldn't really mind if all the sub-class specs felt like they had some kind of powerful synergy between their perks. Some of them do, like Voidwalker's Attunments of Chaos and Hunger both feel like they promote a kind of rotation that offer dramatically different but viable ways to play. But then you look at Stormcaller, and while all those perks seem useful, they don't really work together in a way that's makes your Guardian feel terribly different. Dawnbreaker's Attunment of Sky offers good synergy and rewards a unique play style, but Attunment of Flame just feels like a handful of random buffs. In D1, I could setup my own spec, which pretty much meant I played each sub-class one way, and ultimately wasn't much different than the system they have now. But, by having more options I could make sure all the subclasses used perks that felt reasonably complimentary. I'm good if Bungie sticks to the current system, but I think they need to rework several of the sub-classes so that their perks all feel meaningful and contribute a play style that isn't just Guns and Random Buffs.
