Destiny 2 is NOT an RPG.
I know we wanted it to be an RPG, but its just not that type of game. Its just a shooter, guys....
So, while I agree that the skill tree is empty and pointless, if you realized ahead of time that you were not playing an RPG, you'd not be that disapointed.

D2 is mediocrity. It is the hubris of lesser men. It is the work of those of no vision.

Agreed.

Edited by Coldhands: 5/29/2018 3:33:33 PMBut man, how much better would this game be with just like ... 20-25% more RPG? Deeper writing, more perk options for our subclasses, deeper writing, maybe some kind of weapon customization and crafting system, an in-game lore codex, and definitely a little deeper writing. If Anthem delivers on that stuff, it might well steal me away from Destiny.

Its all i wanted moving forward from D1. More RPG choices. I dont think i was wrong to expect that from a sequel, but aftwr the Beta i pretty much knew it was never going to happen. This game legit died before it was launched. \_("/)_/

Yeah it's more shooter with a loot/power level grind but not RPG in a fully mechanical sense. The idea with the limited subclass Atunements is to have 'characters' under the subclass, adding a slighter hero shooter vibe to the game. There's two ways I see to improve this, but Bungie never said a word on the matter.
