It's Friday, And I Haven't Played IB
Remember when you'd log in and play a little, pick up some of the Iron Banner bounties and dabble in the early days after reset and then cram on the weekend for the big points?
I'm not feeling the urge to jump in this round. I looked at the ornaments, weapons, and the ship and thought some of it was all right, but none of it really sparked my interest. I've got clan mates who like the stuff they've gotten from IB this week, but it's just not the same feeling as it was to attain the rank in Destiny. If either Glory or Valor were tied to IB, I think I might feel different.
Anyone else eschewed IB this week to do other things?

Yeah I’m not a pvp person but I am a iron banner player and I’m don’t feel a true need to jump in this week. I’m sad that the emote is buy only. I like the idea that if you wear a full set of iron banner you get a buff. Like a higher chance to get more tokens or an xp boost.

I don 't think I saw anyone using the Iron Banner emote. And I think that's a good thing. I confess I paid 5 bucks for an emote once. I was a child of the 1980's, and I had to do some air guitar action, so sue me. But $11... that's actually more than 60%* of what I effectively paid for the Warmind expansion itself. *1100 pcs. silver = $11.00. Season pass was $90, meaning $54 for game, $18 for each DLC. 11 is 61.1% of 18.

I hate this new „loot“. I remember in destiny 1, I was so excited for every new iron banner and their new weapons and armors. Every weapon/armour had their special look and perks. In destiny 2 you have only one armor set and you play for the 100 reskinned automatic riffle and ornaments. „Kill 100 players with your super“. That‘s stupid. Where are the good old days were you played a few hours IB and after the match you got excited, what loot you get with random perks?

I played season 3 once and realized is was just a big waste of time. What were they thinking ? (assuming there is anyone left at bung that thinks)

I haven’t participated in IB since D1, just went in and it’s awful and the reward system is moronic.

I just did it for call to arms. No need to keep on playing IB after that if you aren't into mediocre weapons or cosmetics. In D1 i used IB to level up my character, which is not possible here with the lower power level.

6v6 is trash in destiny 2 and the guns are meh. I remember in destiny 1 I would run all 3 titans to rank 5.

Yup... use to max out all 3, D2 I played once with clan mates. No incentive to play, same guns, nothing special to grind for. That's the biggest problem with D2, there just isn't anything that feels special or different. No chance at light level increase, no desire to play.

I honestly don’t understand Bungie staging monthly events that don’t off any chance at actually progressing in the game. They’ve essentially turned them into pointless side quests that drop shit rewards. At this point, what’s the motivation? Changing the look of your armor set? Yeah... That’ll get people to put down other games to come back to Destiny for the week... I don’t know who is calling the shots at that studio right now, but it’s safe to say that they’d find a way to screw up selling water in the desert.

I’m not much of a pvp or IB player. I dabble once in a while. But to me, it seems that All anyone can do is put the blame exactly where it belongs... on the shoulders of Bungie and the devs whom created this seasons IB to be completely meaningless and useless. (Gotta stop and think about it a minute, without just automatically jumping on the upset players who post their ill thoughts) It was created the way it was, solely to prolong your playtime !!! ... You get nothing out of it worthwhile. (Unless you like the look given from the ornaments).

I’m mainly playing for the 6v6 aspect and to mess around and see how the sandbox changes are. It’s still a little too team shotty but I feel like the energy is better with 6v6.

I've played 10 matches and lost ALL of them!! That's how unfair it is to play as a solo player. Literally nothing but team after team after team

If i play IB, will it give me a chance to raise my light level? NO?! Then I’m out. And it’s a shame, because I used to love grinding IB for gear drops that I could at least infuse. But now, it’s just a crowded quick play.
