Ward of Dawn sucked outside of the raid and certain nightfalls. I would rather have a subclass that performs well for a variety of activities.

I have clutched many trials matches using the bubble in D1 and shut down many supers. Its all about finding the playstyle

The times when Ward of Dawn was actually useful was still very minimal. You may have clutched some trials matches with it, but that could happen with anything if you use it enough. You could clutch trials matches with pretty much any super, and you could do it much more often. Statistics even back up my claim. If you look at any Destiny 1 chart of performance in PvP, you can see that Defender is always on the bottom in terms of k/d ratio. It's always been the lowest in that area. You did say that you need to find the playstyle, and I do somewhat agree with that. However, the super was still lacking most of the time even if you did get used to the playstyle that is required for it. I've had some clutch moments with it, but I've had many more times when I use the bubble and a few seconds later a Voidwalker comes in and shatter nova bombs me, destroying the bubble and killing anyone inside it. Or a Gunslinger uses golden gun and destroys the bubble with 2 shots and takes me out with the third. It was just not an effective subclass for PvP in the overall view. I think the main problem comes with just how little health it has. 2000 health really isn't enough for it to do what it's supposed to do. Ward of Dawn is supposed to be a mostly defensive super. It's main purpose is to block damage. When it's shut down by most other supers, something is clearly wrong with its design. I like the way it is now because it's a situational thing. They don't expect you to use it all the time, but when you do it could be very powerful.

Also forgot surpressor gernades were the nightstalker/ super shut down before hunter got their arrows.

Spoken like someone who never used bubble in D1 weapons of light had me save more peoples asses more than once. Last guardian standing *pops bubble over your dead body witch 360 coverage man please. The disrespect is real

Dude, I mained a Titian throughout 90% of Destiny 1. I switched to a Warlock main at the very end and that's where I've stayed partly because of this topic. I know Ward of Dawn more than most people who've played this game, so don't try to tell me I never played Defender. My main argument is that it was just too situational to be considered effective. I had some clutch moments with it, but I've had many more times when I use the bubble and a few seconds later a Voidwalker comes in and shatter nova bombs me, destroying the bubble and killing anyone inside it. Or a Gunslinger uses golden gun and destroys the bubble with 2 shots and takes me out with the third. It was just not an effective subclass for PvP in the overall view. Statistics even back up my claim. If you look at any Destiny 1 chart of performance in PvP, you can see that Defender is always on the bottom in terms of k/d ratio. It's always been the lowest in that area. I think the main thing that hindered its potential was the low health it had. 2000 health isn't really enough to defend against most supers, and if it can't do that it's mostly useless because people can take advantage of that fact. It was super easy to shut it down because there's always someone on your team with a super, especially when it was 6v6. All I'm saying is that from my experience it was not very useful most of the time, and I switched classes partly because I was sick and tired of only having 2 good subclass options for most activities. Now I main a Warlock, and I can tell you that it was SUPER easy to shatter nova a bubble in PvP.

Well I understand you on that, I just main bubble cause I like being the white mage of the group ( more so felt like it in D1 than D2 but that's why I want glasshouse exotic back) but yeah lol I know we as avatar are normally on the low end of the stick which is probably why bungo doesn't give the class the exotics it needs to be more on par.

Hammers? striker?, subclasses are situational

Hammers and Striker can be at least somewhat useful in every area. Ward of Dawn was practically useless in certain activities. It had a huge lack of versatility.
