It doesn’t matter when it’s KA/D. If Bungie put it back to K/D it would be more accurate.

That dude is stupid, you win by having a good kd. You die too much they win they die too much you win...simple as that. Saying you could be 0.0 and you did good if the team wins...-blam!- that you made everyone carry you, you didn't do shit for the team and you didn't do "good".
-
KD is still a good indicator of what a players contribution to your team will be like. If you’re using the most effective weapons, gaining points, and not giving up points; that player has good game sense. I don’t care if someone is “skilled” enough to occasionally get a sweet double kill on a stupid flank with their “skilled player only” double sidearm loadout, but they die on those trips 80% of the time. Having the knowledge to know what will benefit you and your team the most is skill in itself, whether it be using a OP gun, team shooting, or knowing when to run.

3 RepliesSimple version. KD doesn't mean shit cause any one can have a good KD using OP weapons (Vigilance Wing and Colony or a 450 auto) and KD doesn't always mean skill. Decent KD not using OP meta weapons is actual skill.

2 RepliesEdited by ImStillCasual: 5/7/2018 4:58:23 PMI mean, I get what he's saying, but there's a definite skill gap between players as the gap between K/D increases. Just dismissing K/D entirely seems to be more favorable to the lower level players and ignores any of the factors attributing to why there is even a difference in K/D in the first place. Thumbskill, map awareness, movement, positioning, callouts, baiting, utilizing weapon loadouts that cover ranges based on your play-style are all factors that separate elite players vs very good players vs good players vs average players vs bad players.

Do they got stats for each particular weapon yet? I mean you could have used Uriel’s every game and came out positive without trying but what fun is that.

On the contrary... of course it matters.

1 ReplyIt does mean you kill more than you get killed, so yes it does mean something. Bad players always blame "OP" weapons when they could equip the same weapons and they would still go negative. Good players adapt, bad players call everything "OP" instead of realizing its actually their complete lack of thumbskill. No hate...😉
