Didn't they have a cool sounding phrase for the type of connection D2 would have before launch? I remember laughing thinking about how bad D1 got at times with being shot around corners or players with shit connections not taking damage but I would never have believed it would have got worse. With the slower time to kill it's much worse in D2. The trade kills seems to have doubled. Then there's the player who takes no damage as you're shooting him in the back only to have him turn around and kill you then die to the bullets you put into him before he turned around. I don't think they'll ever get it right. 😐

I know right it’s such a mess man. “Hybrid servers” that’s what they called them. It’s P2P but with the location data running on the Bungie servers (I think). Really it’s the same as D1 with a couple tweaks but they used it to hype it some more... and here we are, stuck with the most frustrating online PvP experience available 😊 Yay!

Yea that's it "hybrid servers" They had 2 hamsters on the wheel instead of one but they were each running the opposite way. Lol

Last time I saw the posts on this, the hybrid part was one dedicated server to run the game clock, and another to confirm the map. I think location is still local host.

Oh ok. Well like I said I wasn’t sure of the details, I just knew it was split and the gameplay data was p2p
