Check this out... Year 3 Destiny.... Just think about all of the things that had players engaged. Look back at how much respect you had for a guy that earned his exotic weapons. Think to how terribly bad you wanted the gjallarhorn. Look at all the hours you spent in Archon's Forge. Remember how you slowly transitioned from casual playing strikes, to full-on Tryhard looking at the next 5 grimoire points! Imagine the desire needed to make people "SWEAT" and want to pay others to make them go flawless, and using boons just to still lose to top tier players hoping for skill based matchmaking. The loot....., the game breaking memories that were fun to delve into. REROLLING your guns... going to the gunsmith to ask for another set of perks, instead of him holding the same gun, that is clearly not finished. Try to figure out what all of the lore in game does, makes people think there's more, that maybe we will find out what hawthorne is up to. What's going to happen with Savathun? Where's the new speaker? Are the old enemies not aware of how weak the tower is now? If you've honestly never played the original Destiny, you should go back from the beginning, and add motobu_msft. I will seriously go through the game with you, every raid, every strike, just to reminisce on how good the hawkmoon felt, and how dangerous the LD 5001 was. Or how useful the Outbreak Prime, and other exotics were. Seriously just went down memory lane, trying to understand how my little five minutes of Destiny 1 can make me daydream that hard, but not show Bungie "De way". RIP Destiny 1 Best Regards, "Warmind" Hopeful

  • Moto... So, I played the campaign of D1, but never really understood, or got into, the online multi player stuff. Mostly b/c I'm sort of the lone wolf type. I was just there for the story and the campaign. So, as difficult as this may be for some to believe, I literally had no idea, nor did I really care, to level my character. I've embraced D2, though, and even (for the first time ever) gotten into PvP. I've tried it before in other games but always gotten pwned so hard that I'd quit pretty quickly. (I currently play on xbox even though I grew up a pc gamer...back before there were even graphics!) Now, I've finally learned to be an almost average player, and it's mostly fun. I even get the leveling system and etc. All this talk about D1, though, (you and many others) makes me think I should really go back and play it a bit deeper. I laugh to think about my char, with only rare gear and weapons, and how much I missed out. Interesting, though, that my perspective is so very different than most people commenting on here. I like the kinetic / energy weapon slots, as I feel like there's a clear differentiator between when and where to use each. As a struggling noob, though, I beg Bungie to bring back a bit of aim assist to consolers. I totally need it! (And not too proud to admit it.) Maybe they could give an option to engage it, but give a dps penalty or something for it. Anyway, I also wanted to say that I liked the manner that you gave your feedback. Was well done, without sounding whiny. rip

  • To be received as I am, I can only say thank you. I love in Japan, and I am just waking up,so forgive me, but you missed out for sure. Like I said, God back and play a few things, the weapon slots in d1 have energy and kinetic, but they are restricted to one thing. Ugh where's my coffee! Sincerely, Motobu_msft

  • Item the first, excellent post brining valid points to light. Thank you for a well written and entertaining read. And B, I am compelled to support your stance but with a less light hearted diatribe. You see, I am angry with Bungie because I ferl as though Bungie saw our loyal servitude to Destiny 1 as an opportunity to take advantage of us from a business standpoint because they expected us count on Destiny to be an enhancement of D1, a continuation of everything that made it great, a dissolution of things that were not, and a myriad of new things to try all mixed together in what SHOULD have been a historically good sequel propped atop the technological improvements of the industry at the time. Instead. the only thing historic about D2 may be the speed and ferocity with which once loyal players have abandoned this game. The most disheartening of all is not how primitive and uninteresting it is nor is it even the mountains of glitches along with consistent ans all too frequent server disconnects and reboots, and it is not even the lazy and uncreative storyline or blatant lack of content. The real issue is that Bungie does not even seem to realize how pitiful and embarrassing this virtual decade old beta they are pretending is a game truly is. The only possible, logical way a game like Destiny 1 erodes into a birth defect like Destiny 2, is that Bungie have either forgotten what we loved in D1 or they simply do not because they consider us bllind sheep, herded through the branding stall with open wallets. Things like dead ghosts forced players to explore every corner of every planet. The various uses for materials added still more value to exploring. Ammo synths, Strange coins, resources, engrams, hard to find weapons made looting chests robbing the north pole in early December because all those things had valuable uses in multiple aspects of the game so it was fun. Grimoire was a badge of respectable honor because any noob or try hard could get lucky in a raid or a carry in trials but there was no way to fake 5,000 grimoire. When you saw that you knew that was a genuine legend on the controller and when you reached it, that was like reaching the tip of Mt. Olympus, because it was such rarified air that everyone knew how special it was. All those side games like prison of elders, court of Oryx, and archons forge added to all the other content meant you could play for hours without getting bored. And due to grimoire, quality reward for looting chests and farming, and rare/special/hard to get weapons and armor made all of us grind for those things. Plus those special hard to get weapons and armor were ACTUALLY SPECIAL!!!! They did things other weapons and armor didnt do whereas now everybody has everything, nothing is special nor hard to get, and the few items that are special are so OP, its pointless to face an opponenthat has it. Then on the other hand I have been one punch melee killed by a noob at half health while in the middle of my super...if a new player at half health can one punch kill a max player in full health in the midst of using their super without dying then guess what? That is not a super, it is a useless aspect that has no value whatsoever. Same for any low level enemy that survives a super to one shot a fully healthy guardian around a wall, through a shield, from across the map...it is a super, it stands to reason some aspect of it, if not every aspect of it, should consistently be....SUPER? I mean, what does anyone really play a game for if every accomplishment and hard fought reward is as common as water, and can be virtually nullified by any brand new player or standard low level enemy? I tried but the old saying goes, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Bungie has deliberately made fools of every player that carried over from D1. They have ruined an entire franchise. They have cklearly lost their way and honestly do not deserve us or our money. They have yet to hold themselves accountable for their eggregious failures nor will they. The only way the consumer can protect themselves is to withold their money, voice their disappointmeny and refuse to be made a fool of again. Bungie should apologize, admit the error of their ways, and at least make sincere attempt to atone but if they were the type of company or people to do that, we would not be at this point in the first place would we. Shameful and I feel bad for those who continue to play this game without understanding how much of a mockery of us Bungie intended it to be. In literally every other industry, business, or career in the universe when a job is done this poorly, people are fired, lawsuits are filed, companies go bankrupt. Meanwhile, Bungie is referring us to their "roadmap" detailing their multi year plan of updates, expansions, patches, and fixes to eventually end up at the game we should have received when we bought it. And if we the players cannot see that and act upon it in our own defense, then we are all every bit the fool Bungie has hoped us to be.
