Exotic Weapon Preview: Skyburner's Oath

    While it looks cool... I don't see it fulfilling dual utility besides the precision kills. The explosive simply don't do enough damage to justify shooting most of the mag to kill adds (seeing as how it struggled against a low level bullet sponge... I don't want to imagine a high level bullet sponge). In a raid, or high LL activity in general, the explosive rounds aren't going to do much. It looks fun, it could do well against doggos (but that's really it... and you could just prec-shot psions) and everything else will just take longer than simply switching to another gun. Not only that, but your 'float and shoot' tactic is going to get you killed. Again, it's fun for low level missions, but do that in the Nightfall and you'll certainly die. First, due to the lack of scope while still having a 'power theme' in the recoil, I would buff the damage by enough to be comparable to other heavy hitting scouts in general, and then be the hardest hitting scout against Cabal. It warrants the close range risk while not making it overpowered in other scenarios as to just be an 'always use' gun. I would then buff the grenade 'blast', not impact, but the blast damage by enough to be comparable to a Better Devils quality explosion damage AND give it stagger potential of the Better Devils. Ultimately, I don't think the actually do that much more damage with this buff, but it'll allow a slow down utility of enemies that makes up for the ammo used. Also, you should really consider increasing the ammo reserves for this weapon. It eats through ammo in grenade form and the lack of scope almost forces this gun to 'act' like an auto even though it has scout rifle mechanics. Last, but also least, personally I would like to see 25 in the magazine so that the ammo burn isn't as bad. This would allow you to switch between grenade mode and precison mode more regularly between enemies so that the dual utility would be more notable. This would also more strongly justify the reload time a bit better. IMO.
