I disagree that the exotics in D2 kill the same in PvE as D1.

Some do, some don't. Sunshot does. This cabal scout does as well as a lot of them did. Sweet business can probably keep up with Monte Carlo and bad juju. The biggest problem to me is that by removing one perk tree from all guns they hurt the exotics the most. You'd either get two good exciting perks (juju reloads magically not from reserves on kill and boosts super energy) or you'd get a good perk like crowd control plus the exotic perk like vex. Now you just get the exotic perk and most of those are underwhelming by themselves. Boost to super energy would be meh but itself, especially in that gun, but mowing down thralls without reloading and getting your super to boot was fun.

Well you got me there. Haven't tested exotics. Only checked the legendaries. Although they should function the same. Rpm/archetypes generally do the same damage per bullet.
-
They should be but it's too easily to see the difference between D1 and D2. It's why gamers have brought up many time asking Bungie to create exotics to feel like exotics again.
-
Exotics do feel exotic. They're just not broken. Which is what people want
-
For PvP balance, they aren't broken. In PvE - they're not that good.
-
It's not that they aren't good. They just aren't must haves. Because d2 pve doesn't provide a need for must have weapons. Which could be seen as a positive or a negative
-
Which is why they're legendaries and not actual exotics. Black hammer was so good they made it exotic. Telesto is the perfect example, and someone brought it up above this. It created orbs in d1, and was still rarely used outside of void burn. D2 brings it over, but takes away the orbs and doesn't replace them. Wtf?
Exotics do feel exotic. They're just not broken. Which is what people want
Nope.
-
But they do. Tractor Canon, ward cliff coil, graviton Lance They're interesting and exotic weapons They're just not overly power And aren't must haves, like gjallarhorn or black spindle were
-
I have to disagree on that as well. IMO it's more on wanting exotics to feel like Y3. Even though I didn't like all the nerfing in Y1 and Y2. In Y3 they adjusted things to where they met a somewhat happy medium to where both PvP gamers and PvE were content with the weapons.

Not too concerned with power As it's an arbitrary value assigned to a weapon. It can be changed at any time. More concerned with how unique a weapon is. Basically I want more tractor canons and ward cliff coils.
