Cozmo - would it just make more sense to shut down the PvP entirely in order to make a much better game/game experience for all players at this point? Get all that creative talent you have producing meaningful end game activities, challenging new areas, customizable weapons/armors, even new raids and bosses. Dare I mentioned it - Lore?
By reading the forums and even your own postings, the company continually seems to keep falling flat on their face in regards to PvP elements. Hasn't the failed experiment gone on long enough, when will enough be enough? I don't expect a reply from you, and I fully expect a lot of hate in feedback. But what made Destiny was the World, the locations, the lore, the differences that each individual experienced.
Destiny 2 when spoken about by the company and by players is nothing but balance and similarities. everyone running (for the most part) the same exact armor, the same exact weapon, the same exact......... that does not make the game fun for anyone.
My 2 cents - take them for what they are and throw em in a bowl with the other change lost to redundancy.

Your whole community right now is playing other games anyway 💀if you were going to take the game offline for like a week or or 2 and fix it.... Which would be smart before season 3, since season 3 is your only chance to get your community back.... 💀 I would be all over that 💩.... Take some time and give your gamers what they deserve, a proper gaming experience and not this jumbled up bull💩... If you do that, plus season 3, it could change everything for your team Bungie 💀 just need to throw in more than 2 hours of work this time.... Good luck making the right call...... 💀✌

sorry, Destiny IMO is not a PvP game and realistically has no need for it. Cry all you want, OR how about you inform me as to the upcoming Destiny E-Sports event date. Then I will shut the front door.

I think Destiny isnt a PvP game either but then again, PvP can be one of the most fun things ever with stuff like private matches.

Not sure that the Golden Guardians as owned by NBA fans of the Golden State Warriors Basketball team counts towards Destiny. But hey, thanks for trying, I bet you could go flawless in Trials.

About time someone else saw the obvious. Its as clear as the nose on my face. Balancing for pvp ruins the pve experience because it all has to balance, it makes PVE boring. Borderlands is the perfect example of how you can have crazy fun loot when your not balancing for PVP.

Totally this. For pvp I've always played the battlefield and cod series for YEARS, but was a refreshing change having a game similar to borderlands for its pve/loot elements... The pve at the start of destinys existence for me at least, was crisp, exciting, and the fact you could run it in a co op mode made it all the more fun, and it ALL started to come crashing down after the very first iron banner tournament. I could be wrong, but it was after this that they started the changes in the name of balance. I get it, balance is needed sometimes, but trying to marry the two in both PvP and pve can NEVER work, because those op weapons you ground for, beat that raid or nightfall for, to make your pve experience easier, make grown men CRY in PvP for balance, then guess what.... that elemental scout you smashed the nightfall with last week helping a couple of guys to beat it gets nerfed into the ground. It was after that 1st iron banner, which I spent the majority of rolling around with a void fusion for the thorn bounty, that fusion rifles got nerfed, and then the floodgates opened, it was then systematically watered down over a 3 year period which then inevitably led to the Demonic spawn which is destiny 2..... Way to go Bunghole...... you managed to totally destroy a winning formula, and to this day, I don't think I've witnessed another company destroy themselves with such finesse.

I never suggested that they retcon the entire story revolving around the crucible, I recommended that they kill it off and bring Destiny to glory. They can make up any excuse they want, just get rid of it!

233,200ish players played pvp yesterday. 379,400ish pve. Lets assume that pvpers only pvp and pvers only pve. You're saying to screw over 2/5ths of the player base!

(for ease) 235,000 PvP players. 3% of your player base plays PvP - 97% of your player base is no longer playing PvE (Correction) 96% of your player base no longer playing PvE. I say Screw Over the 3%, not worth losing the 96%. The 96% are whom buys game and makes profits for the company. Should the fantasy of D3 ever materialize, I am willing to bet a large portion of the 96% do not buy the game. You can count me as 1 that is OUT and unless it is so Awesome Sauce dipped in Honey Fudge and slathered in Sweet Hot Goodness, not going to be purchasing it, nor am I going to be purchasing any more expansions for D2, what has been paid will be fulfilled and then - Gone, Bye Bye, Thanks for the Memories, Moving On Up To The Eastside. And to correct you: the 233,200 players that played PvP are part of the 379,400 players that PvE. Meaning that of the people that still pay this game attention - 2/3rds are PvPers.(And to answer your question - YES, screw over the 2/3rds - they are the leech killing this game) Going to the Tower is not PvP, joining a crucible match is PvP, not sure how this gets lost on so many.

I can not answer with knowing this first: do you view Destiny as a primarily PvE game or a PvP game?

Before we get into a heated discussion about how I'm a leech or whatever let's go over the figures using your mafmatix. 95.5% of the total player base since day 1 are no longer playing pve. 66.6% of the remaining are still playing pvp. Ps. I know full well that most pvpers also pve.

So next question in this "heated debate" - prior to the release of D2, what were the numbers for D1 on a daily basis? how many PvE, How Many PvP - on average??? If you have them for last 6 months before the release of D2. Additionally, as I don't recall that far back - What were the PvE/PvP numbers during October/November 2017 for D2 or in general around that time frame? as a side note - can you open up the dreadnought by PvP play alone? What About Rise of Iron that certainly is a PvP content only situation I believe? Oh wait, wrong game. I'm not going to ask about Mercury since as long as you bought the expansion you get those PvP maps "included" no need to PvE any of it. and if you know than why post riduclousness about 2/5ths?

Rarara, let's drag that old deadhorse out and talk about player counts on a previous game that has nothing to do with the initial discussion, I'll take your strawman and burn it down. The issue at hand isn't how many played destiny 1 at whatever time. Bringing up past events won't save you from the fact that you're asking for 2/3rds of the players (2/5ths if you don't factor in that pvpers also pve, like I clearly stated earlier to make the math easier for dumbdumbs) to be let go. Bruhm bruhm bum bum.
