Anyone who puts importance on the latest gadget or expensive designer whatever probably doesn't live in Montana.
People in Montana place value on... different things.
The two paragraphs about consumerism describes most folks living in Montana.

No one claimed all Montana people were in a cult. I was just sharing one of the cult sermons from Far Cry 5 because I thought it was interesting.

Of course they aren't. That's the point. Those paragraphs are basically the average Montana resident.

Middle-class America feels the same way. It's the vocal minorities at either end of the political spectrum that gets all the attention. Makes us look like a divided, wet mess of a country.

I know what you mean. I live in California a few miles away from Disneyland. It's pretty suburban over here but the influence of Hollywood and Los Angeles aren't far away. You run into both types- people who don't care if you're wearing designer clothing and people who are obsessed with trends.
