Sorry but the OP is delusional. I chose to gave Bungie the benefit of the doubt for D1, despite being extremely vocal about its glaring faults and all the news that came out after launch (incidents with Joe and Marty, the discovery of cut content etc.) Then they told us they were rebooting the whole thing with D2, gave honestly quite a bit of detailed information about the new systems and how things would be better. Except they ended up being worse than vanilla Destiny, which frankly is unnacceptable. Even now their hubris is on full display in the weekly updates with cheeky responses. At some point you gotta realize that at least 1 of 2 things is true; 1) They're grossly incompetent or 2) They clearly just do not give a damn and will continue to do things their way and tell us to like it. Then there's the horrendously slow rate at which they patch their game, which I'm sure is compounded by the garbage engine they use that takes 8+ hours just to load a single map for editing. I don't hate the IP, quite the contrary - I love the concepts and the lore and what Destiny could/should be. But I also realize that it likely won't ever see that potential realized, at least not in Bungie's hands. Destiny should have been the next major defining FPS much the same way Halo was for a generation of kids/teenagers, instead it's likely going to go down as one of the biggest failings ever. They had something truly magical on their hands, and they squandered it. And frankly I'm getting beyond sick of this happening - 1st it was final fantasy 14 (which I know is going strong but I actually liked where it was heading towards the end of 1.0 better) then Paragon (damn you Epic, same thing too they just did not listen to my fellow founders at all and worshipped Reddit/their own opinion) and now Destiny. D3 will come out I have no doubt, but I'm willing to bet it won't be received too well and will likley be the end of this IP, and Bungie will only have themselves to blame. Don't forget they're also facing stiff competition from Anthem, The Division 2 and Borderlands 3 all of which should be out within the next 10-12 months. Just pains me to see Bungie destroy themselves like this. I had an absolute ball with the alpha/beta in PvP, honestly the most fun I'd had with an FPS in ages (or at least the early days of battlefield 3) and made a lot of friends too. But it's just been a downward spiral since launch and while there were some fun upticks (like VoG) there's no denying the final result. And sadly if this does end up tanking the way many are predicting, Activision will probably finish Bungie off for breaching their contract :/

  • at least youre one of the very few who admit they criticised D1. most claim it was wonderful and without flaw, or give that impression without openly stating it. i take issue with you insulting anyone calling them delusional. by all means disagree; but there is no need for that.

  • I'm most excited for Anthem honestly, based on what's been shown and Bioware's very active Twitter/Reddit presence. Just hoping it doesn't end up another fiasco, I honestly can't take it at this point way too many disappointments in the last couple years and I don't just mean in the MMO-lite genre (like Watch Dogs, ugh...). Very hype for BL3 as well, though I'm holding my expectations back a bit on that one. Been playing 2 a lot recently and taking note of a lot of things I'm hoping Gearbox changes/fixes in 3 (mostly balancing stuff but also a few other issues. Would really love to see Vladoff SMGs for example). And the OP *is* delusional. I'm not saying that to be insulting either, I'm saying it because people need to seriously wake the eff up and realize the Bungie we knew and loved is gone and it ain't ever coming back. And it's freaking criminal IMO how badly they have wasted the potential of this IP.

ugh Anthem is going to be third person though. I guess that i could get used to it. I sure did in the Division. Heck i was farming Hunters in the underground last night. Didn't get crap by the way (no exotics). Before destiny i spent most of my time in Borderlands!. i loved that game. Borderlands 3 if done right will steal everyone from Destiny 2. These other developers are watching and learning from Bungies complacency. I had nearly 4000 hours in Destiny 1. It was my escape after working 70 hours a week. All spent in PVE. I really believe greed and pride have destroyed the franchise. Greed pretty much destroys everything. Great talk, enjoy your day.

  • I don't understand why some people seem to hate 3rd person so much. lol for a long time (when I was a kid) I had a difficult time adjusting to 1st person lol, because I wasn't used to not being able to see where my feet were/where I was gonna land from a jump lol. A lot of really great titles out there though like Uncharted, Metal Gear etc.

  • Only time will tell. But if your faith is beyond repair then maybe you just need to invest in games that have developers more to your expectations and come back if Bungie do things that change your opinion. Because all opinions are subject to change.

I'd be more inclined to agree if not for the seeming trend of ever decreasing quality in games since about 2012/2013. Save for the odd gem like Horizon Zero Dawn, there hasn't exactly been all that many AAA games that really warrant paying full price for (my opinion). And far too many bait & switch failures. Capcom at least, seems to be trying to restore some faith in their brand but Konami, Bungie and Epic are probably on my **** list for life at this point. EA and Ubi are teetering on the edge. Also very much on the fence about Square Enix these days, but leaning towards optimistic. They've had some bad setbacks (FF15 was a trainwreck) but that company is always full of surprises.
