Would you believe me if I tell you eververse existed on d1 and is now the major content of d2 thanks to the playerbase's feedback?
If you investigate a bit you will find thousands inviting bungie to create an ingame store, lootboxes and stuff and fill it of content "millions will buy asap".
Why you wonder.
The reason from those parasites was "to sustain the dev team, thanks them for their work, helps them to keep the game alive, pay the salary of dev team"
Bungie simply implemented what those bastards kept asking, this is the result.
You can spot often some of those bastards on various other forums of other games posting around asking devs about include a lootboxes system ingame and microtransactions promising they would be ready to pay

I don't think I ever asked for Eververse in its current form. It is borderline evil. I believe that when the game was popular people liked having extra customizations and things, but in its current state the entire game is inside the Eververse thing, and everything else is static rolls.

Is the profit from game sales not enough anymore? I mean third best selling game of 2017 can't keep paying their teams 50k a year, cuz lets be honest, Bungie doesn't pay well.
