1,000 hour logged Feedback

I have about a thousand hours logged in D2, so I wanted to post some feedback on D2. Personnally I wouldn’t have logged 1,000 hours if I didn’t enjoy this game. I think it’s very well balanced, the worlds are beautiful, mechanically it performs great, and the gun feel is superb. I am excited for the changes coming in the new update, and am looking forward to the new DLC content. ——- My feedback is aimed at exotics and their acquisition. Exotics being the most powerful pieces of gear in the game I think they deserve some effort to acquire. Since we already have a large enough pool of established exotics, and Xur whom you can purchase exotics from my idea is very simple: Drop the exotic engram drop rate to be equivalent to that of the Challenger Ghost Shell, and add a lengthy and rigorous quest for every exotic in the game. Since exotics are being being improved, their power level and impact in the game are becoming more critical. Having a line of play to earn them from a given point on (Fall DLC) it would allow players to maintain their exotic collection (which is already very viable) and add the chase and quest for more power in the future. ———- If we implement quest lines (lengthy involved quest lines) for each new exotic (or returning) then we add reason to “grind out” activities in the game, and we can get that old D1 grind feel back. ———- I think since we already have an exotic pool, and some new additions to the pool coming in May we can look to the fall DLC as an implementation of new (lowered) drop rates for exotics, and the rigorous quest lines to achieve them without the aid of RNG. Supplemented with Xur, and his wares I think this system we could peak the interest of our old audience that enjoyed the RPG feel of questing out and earning their gear. ———— As far as the current system stands, it doesn’t preclude play lines to all players, but as the community has shown there are some areas of the game that don’t “feel rewarding”. ————- Again I’d like to reiterate that I enjoy this game, and spend the vast majority of it in pvp, but also in raids, worlds, and other contents equally. ————- I hope my feedback gets through and is helpful. Thanks again Bungie. You’ve caught a lot of flak over the past few months, but I’m still playing this game as much as I can, because so enjoy it. -a fellow Guardian

I would go as far as to suggest changes to Xur's three choices for exotics to give clues instead as to where you can start a quest step for an unearned exotic. Clue one: whatever planet he is on, it isn't that planet. (If he is on Titan the step isn't there) Clue two: maybe a written description of the area or simple riddles revolving around what the exotic is. Clue three: Xur speaks about random ones while you are near him. (Using his idle chat using for example Rahool "when you whisper to the void does it whisper back? For me either." But for Xur it's like 'I remember once back on io near some bones and a cave - the Vex were acting strange... Stranger than usual they would just sit there as if they were asleep I could hear... music') Using the above parenthetical example for continuing explanation, you use said clues to locate Arecibo adventure, then within that quest you have narrowed your search. >Now to begin the exotic quest step: you have to find the secret spot during Arecibo adventure. Once located and scanned or whatever, then you do your quest steps for your exotic. Complete steps, unlock your new exotic.
