PSA: The Crucible and Solo Players

Good afternoon folks. Now, for those of you who are still with us here in Destiny 2, I’d like to take a moment to talk to about one of the finer components of this game: the Crucible. With Iron Banner soon to come to a close and a good number of players finishing up their rounds, I would like to address something that I’m sure most individuals have taken a notice to. Whether you are a person who enjoys going lone wolf in a Clash match or teaming up with others for a good spiffy in something more along a Competitive game, I’m sure most of you can agree that it is very important to have a solid team to back you up when the going gets tough. Unfortunately, it has come to my attention as of late that a good number of folks have clearly forgotten this, so I’d like to take this moment to help address this slight problem in the hopes that those who see this will be able to reflect on their games and ultimately see improvements being made. Now, to be clear I am not some sort of MLG Pro player or any expert in the Crucible, but having been around in Destiny just as long as most others, I can, at times, notice and point things out in a game. These are my own insights. You’re free to agree or disagree with what I say, but please at the very least take the time to do what many people hate doing: thinking So, with that aside, let’s dig in. Now, whenever you spawn into a game the first thing that probably comes to mind is “Where should I go?” Maybe you know where the enemy is most likely to come through down on a map and you want to secure a good scout/pulse/sniper lane. Maybe you plan on flanking around and catching the enemy team off guard. And then when you have the misfortune of getting killed off you may think that it would be best to rush back to where your teammates are at so that they have more firepower at a spot on the map. All pretty good thoughts, however, more often than not a player will rush right into a contested area without another player backing them up and sometimes when they see another teammate getting into trouble they decide not to help out. Those little issues can, and probably will, cause a shift in a match’s play, especially if they happen frequently. Please take note, while you may not be in an actual team or a clan or in game/party chat, you do have teammates in the same game as you. It isn’t 100% essential to be directly communicating with them in order to win a game, but simply following them to help out and trying to make sure they don’t go off to die on their own definitely helps out in the long run. There’s no I in team and there’s also no ME in the word win either.
Though Rumble is the one exception to that.
I understand that most players who are particularly in favor of playing solo have been voicing their concerns over whether or not Bungie will allow players to match against other solo players, but please keep in mind that a bad player going against a better player will only ever lead to a single outcome in a match. Aim to play as if you are a part of a team. Help the other guys out and play as if the match is just as important winning than as it is simply playing.
All of that aside, I swear I’ve come across enough blueberries to bake myself a pie that would make Martha Stewart jealous. So, share my pain. https://i2.wp.com/www.greatgrubdelicioustreats.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/IMG_4927..jpg?resize=550%2C825&ssl=1
