Theres plenty they can do most of its already been created in D1, considering D2 is running on the D1 engine they just have to rework it into Destiny 2 and there you have it. People who think Destiny 2 is dead are delusional fanboys from someone like Angry Joe or Bdobbins idiotic fan base, the game is not dead but the player counts have dropped significantly but go ahead and exaggerate the problem more than it actually is

I'd say its on life support, so long as it continues to get support then it will remain alive but some modern medicine (Great ideas and implementation) is what will bring it back from bed rest (Players will return). They can continue to support the game how it is hell they could even bring back random rolls and the weapon system but its likely players still wont come back what they need is a trump card, something so tempting for old players that they have to come back and try it out. This could be as simple as a yearly DLC that bring back the RNG rolls, classic weapon system, returning planets and 1 new raid with 2 revamped returning raids to boost in the fall expansion. I know i said random rolls and classic weapon system are probably not enough but do it all at once with some smart marketing and a Discount to players that already have Destiny 2 and some of its DLC then players would be tempted to give it another go. Thats right what Destiny 2 needs.... is a battle royale mode, i kid its engine probably cant even handle it but fortnite came back from the dead and so can Destiny 2 so long as its smart about its implementations from now on.
