dmg04... Did you check the top Nightfall score.....
Before you posted it in the TWAB, to ensure that they didn't farm the Lost Sector, therefore giving a false positive for any future increases to the global average?

To be clear... I have no issue with people using the exploit, and I'm calling it an exploit because it's not a "strategy"... Just like the world first Prestige Leviathan raid wouldn't be acknowledged if the exploit was used.
It shouldn't have been used as the example unless there was full disclosure. Use the exploit if you want... I don't care... I just don't want to see a score gained by using the exploit used as a benchmark in the TWAB.

We assumed the community would find creative ways to run up the score. We won't be using the super high scores from players utilizing this method when we adjust emblem tiers. We don't want anyone to be forced to do this to earn their Aura. We are monitoring this and will let you know if we plan on making any changes to scoring cheeses. Thanks.

7 RepliesHas any game ever had this level of constant issues. Bungie literally can’t do anything without creating bugs, exploits, or community outrage. It was funny for a while, but this is getting pathetic.

I don’t think the ridiculously high scores will be added to their overall numbers. The only problem I see is that public areas have fast respawning enemies for quick and easy points. Perhaps a joining allies when reaching your first darkness zone and blocking the path back?

Why can't we have the Prestige nightfall with scores, challenges and the what not and then the regular nightfall where one can do it solo if they so chose WITHOUT any sort of penalties, timers or scores. A nightfall for those that just want to kill everything and have fun.

I went into the nightfall alone, to see how many times I could farm the LS within a 20 minute time limit. I did this on the normal nightfall, no modifiers at all. Now I understand that I am not a top 1% player. But the best I could do in the 20 minute time limit, on normal, was getting through the LS 3 times. The best score I got from that was around 10,000 pts. When you start adding modifiers, and everything gets harder, I doubt many could clear the LS more then twice in 18 minutes, so I really don't understand how they are getting such high scores even with the LS. They must be freaking gods at this game.

10 RepliesXenomorph, did you bother to learn and understand what a percentile is before calling out dmg04 and the top score? Json and his team would be in the top 10% whether they went into the lost sector or not. And while I'm here, if you go to get a rally flag to start the Nightall with full rockets and use the rockets to kill things and prevent a wipe, then that is also a cheese. Now, lost sector and rally flag are strategies, not cheeses. If it's so easy to 2 man the forest then go do it and beat the top score, you won't. 1% of the 10% are going to get these great scores. 9% of the 10% are going to be right around the current 60k threshold. It is not a global average. Please understand terms before posting false information.

It was the same with the Challenge of Elders. Bungie posted the high scores every week even though they knew people were exploiting various methods to cheat the system. Orb stacking for example. But truth is people liked to chase those big numbers and get their name seen in the TWaB. It makes people play the game and right now Bungie are desperate for every possible chance to boost the player numbers.

The whole point of the new scoring system is to what? Add a creative way to beat the NF? Who cares... And for fkn emblems and auras that do nothing but make u noticable? What happened to the real loot? I'm so done with this garbage game. The last chance for bungie to salvage any player base is the April update which how this update turned out, will guarantee the death of d2.

I really don't understand why anybody gives a flying F about a NF score. The stupid assed timer is still there causing people to skip areas to get to the end, just like the NF prior to the patch. Bungie's NF game implementation has been totally screwed in D2. I just with they'd go back to the way it was in D1.

Not trying to argue, just pointing that out. As far as fixes go, the only real solution I forsee would be to create some kind of modifier, be it a faction specifically for strike exclusive enemies, those being enemies in strike exclusive areas or those spawned in public areas but are strike related, and make it so only these enemies count towards the overall score. Lunch break up, may come back later to finish this post.
