Nearly every mass shooting takes place in a gun free zone.
At least let the teachers be armed to protect the students.
A "gun-free zone" sign is pretty much saying "we are unarmed".

Teachers in the K-12 and even in college complain about not receiving enough basic school supplies for their classes and them having to shell out their own money from their own supplies that can still be stolen by either students or other teachers. I get that there needs to be a solution that stops school shootings, since they're much more common in the US than any other country in the world, but why arm teachers when people like veterans looking for jobs or security guards is a better alternative? People who were/are trained to defend should be looked at as a better alternative than teachers, who are already struggling to support their own classes.
-
That is also something I would suggest, but gun control wouldn't work, since most mass shootings are committed with guns bought illegally.
-
That's a horrible idea
-
How so? Because schools being completely powerless has clearly been working wonders.
-
You would trust teachers with that kind of power what if one of the teachers shoots a kid or what if a kid gets hold of the gun and kills others that's just a horrible idea to ever suggest
-
Right now a teacher can already sneak a gun into school and shoot a kid if they wanted to. I don't think having a gun legally in the classroom would make a difference. Kids are also bringing their guns into classrooms anyway, so once again, not a sound argument. A shooter is far less likely to walk into a school of they know that the teachers can have guns.

Edited by Atomic: 2/18/2018 9:54:16 PMWhat so everyone has a gun you trust a twelve year old with a gun someone there is going to be a murderer limiting assault rifles and allowing only shotguns and handguns is the solution to this
-
Your sentence doesn't make any sense. I never said to give a 12 year old a gun I said teachers should be allowed to carry
-
Kids are already bringing guns into their classrooms anyway
The odds of these attacks are one in a million and giving a gun to a teacher would only increase odds of danger
-
That is a big what if
-
The day teachers are allowed to carry guns to class is the day my kids officially begin being homeschooled.
-
Ah yes, sound argument.
-
Why not just homeschool em period? I homeschool, and I don’t have to worry about being shot because I know where the guns are.
