I would like to first express my apologies for my lethal levels of sodium and vitriol in my comment earlier. I'm very passionate about this franchise. The first Destiny got me through my contract ending with the Air Force and my divorce that same year. So, that being said, D1 was my outlet and still is.
I'd also like to say, you post was well thought out and informative. I would recommend and highly encourage others to read it.
Now, to answer your question in regards to any other paths to take in order to fix this train wreck of a game. At this point there are only a few constructive ways to move forward in this manner. The first is the most likely to occur, they will continue to release the minimal amount of fixes and changes to keep what's left of the player base playing and hold major game changing fixes and updates for DLC releases or make the community pay for them as they come out.
Second, which would only be implemented if the entire player base stopped playing tomorrow and they stopped receiving anymore money from Eververse purchases; they would have to shut servers down and take the game offline and do a complete overhaul to the core mechanics to give us what we wanted and expect from a Destiny sequel in the first place. (Since they allowed themselves to be completely backed in to a corner with a franchise contract! -_-)
Last one that I'll add for now since this is getting a bit lengthy. They would have to change their contract legally in order to not default and lose their rights and all assets tied to this IP. Go free-to-play and use reasonable micro-transaction practices to fund future updates and content like Warframe or how Evolve was forced to do from the massive backlash and players abandoning the game shortly after it released or make it a true blue MMORPG like Warframe, Black Desert Online, World of Warcraft where they have one release and add on to it with patches, hot fixes, updates and major DLC's.
The only way any of these would work in any way, shape or form is if we, the community, stand together and tell them this is what we want. Petition the changes we want, voice them as load, as numerous as we can. Not unlike what the community did with the #removeeververse posts during The Dawning.
I hope that we can continue this thread and conversation going for as long as there are Guardians that want THEIR franchise back and are will in to stand their ground.

All of what you said is true, not a lot of people are willing to except the fact that these Studios and Publishers are made up of people. People make mistakes, people fail and people aren't perfect. Anyone that expects this need to take a good look at themselves before they cast such unreasonable and unrealistic expectations. Now, all of that being said; I understand that they are under contract but they are also protected by laws established for content Creator's. So, they either already know this and aren't doing anything to stop it or they were poorly represented in the contract meeting. In either case, they're not in a good place with this franchise or leadership.

Edited by TheShadow-cali: 2/16/2018 5:11:51 AMWell, thank you for having an open mind reading my thread. Not many know how to look pass certain things and look at the over all but I'll leave that at that. As far as having an outlet we all need them from time to time. Life happens but there are ways of dealing with things, it's just a matter on how one goes about it at times. The first and most likely to occur I agree with because of Bungie's track record this last couple years. Now, I get making mistake, trying to address them and move forward. What I don't get is how a company can keep making the same mistakes for years unless it's deliberately and not moving forward. In reality this game is back to square 1 like D1 vanilla but a hell of a lot less then D1 vanilla. That is the mind boggling part about it knowing it's 3+ years later. The second is a given :) But, the community has stuck together and has changed a couple thing and I think it should happen more often because it seems to have made a little impact... Like Bungie attempting to put up another paywall with the first expansion. I'm glad the was shut down real quick. It's when the community actually pays attention and not get caught up in the, Ooh, look over there at that shiny thing is when things seen to have an impact. I'd say the Eververse outrage, but it had no effect knowing Bungie road out Dawning until it was over and then some to even acknowledge the communities outrage. IMO Crimson is a weak at best apology saying "we are listening" To me it's not so much about if the community if they can work together or not. It's knowing that the company doesn't really pay any attention to them other then the small petty thing most of the time. Look at the wish list that use to be up. Over a hundred thousand replies of feed back and great ideas about the game just thrown in the trash. Bungie say "we want your feedback" but what's the point if you are ignoring it? Your last one I understand where you went with it. But :) I don't think much would change knowing the actions the higher ups have taken this last couple years that has nothing to do with Activision. Going on there own is what they should of attempted to do before they signed a contract with Activision. In that process of signing that contract they had no idea how it was actually going to effect the company and the key people that use to work for Bungie. Staten, O'Donnell and other that left this company or the smart ones that left before the Bungie signed that contract because they new that it was a huge mistake for the company. Of course this is just my opinion, but I believe there is more truth to it then some would care to admit. IMO a lot of this has to deal with the higher ups. The lack of knowing how to communicate with their player base let a lone themselves and how mismanaged this company actually is. All of that plays a huge role on the out come of this entire game. Until Bungie gets their company properly managed, this game will continue to head in the direction it has been.
