Any Tips On One-Handed Play?

I've lost the use of my left hand temporarily (we hope!) due to a motorbike crash. So far, I can't grasp anything in my left hand at all. Anybody out there playing one-handed who might have some tips and or work-arounds, at least for basic play? I've heard of deaf and colourblind communities on Destiny and blind communities in gaming. Is there a one-handed community? EDIT to mention that I'm on the Xbox One X.

I use the CronusMAX dongle that was mentioned, but I don't know if I would recommend that for you situation. I have a severely movement limited right hand, but I think your left hand would cause problems with Keyboard and mouse set ups. Left hand handles movement with WASD and other key bindings and the mouse handles aiming and triggers(more if you have extra buttons on your mouse, but my gimp hand can't use them. What I would probably recommend for you is getting yourself an elite controller. Binde LEft trigger and bumper to the right elite paddles and use the internal xbox device manager to remap the left joystick in onto the right joystick in. then use your palm or the side of your hand to manage the joystick. This kinda hinges on how dextrous your right hand is. I write with my broken ass right hand because the chicken scratch my healthy left hand produces is abysmal, so a set up like this wasn't plausible for me.

    • My buddy's brother gets his controllers from this place. http://www.broadenedhorizons.com/products/accessible-game-controls It may be far and above what you're looking for since this stuff is more for the heavily disabled(my buddy's bro is about 90% disabled with very limited use of his arms and hands), but just thought I'd put it out there as an option. Hope the paralysis isn't permanent Guardian!

      • Sorry to hear you were in an accident, I hope the paralysis isn’t permanent. In the mean time, youtube has tons of videos of games playing with one hand or how to. I’ve grabbed one video I think is decent for you: https://youtu.be/rpJcbdH05Xg

        • You could look into a CronusMax Plus or XIM 4. They allow you to use different input devices and map your controller in any which way you want including mouse and keyboard which may be easier than a controller for you. Using anything with one hand will limit you for sure but you may be able to set something up that is a bit more one handed friendly. I'm sure there are people out there that utilize these devices to help them. It still won't be easy or perfect but probably better than default.
