Or arena. Periodic bosses, heroic and prestige mechanics with good specific loot ( this is key)

*cracks knuckles* 100 wave max horde mode based in the Infinite Forest end destinations. Every 5 waves, a objective spawns, like Prison of Elders. Every 25 waves, a small boss spawns, strike boss esc At 100, a unique boss for the destination spawns. Once done with round 100 the game can continue with the same pattern endlessly. Every 25, a legendary engram is rewarded and at 100 a exotic engram, bright engram, and legendary engram drop. Legendaries drop a unique set for the horde mode that is varied for each destination. A full run of rewards can only be gotten once per account per weekly reset, but can be run anytime an unlimited amount of times. The mode will have a leaderboard available in the tower to show off quickest and farthest runs. A custom (no xp rewarded) is available.

I've seen a lot of requests for horde like modes. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll let the team know this is still something that players are interested in.
-
I like this idea. I would like to see something like "The enemy are moving against each other", but instead have it be "The enemy is moving against YOU". And just have shiploads of enemies come to try to murder you. Just have a few mini bosses and a major boss in there, preferably covered by lots of enemies so it takes at least 5 or more guardians to actually get the boss down. Or one very, very skillful guardian.

<I'd be fine with the way it is if they just open up the -blam!-ing thing in patrol. Put one node in the middle with 4 different gates, 1 leading to each area. Let me patrol the -blam!-ing future because it's the best place there.>

Prison of elders was awesome. so was Archon´s forge

I hate how static they are in location. Just sitting there chlling out drinking kool-aid in the sun. Freaking boring... Surprise taken invasions were fun because if you pushed back taken forces they either disappeared after repelling the invaders OR a large, super boss-like taken would show up. It was incredibly hard to kill and it hit freakishly hard.. And that was while doing patrols or whatever. Bring stuff like that forward to Destiny 2. Variety is the spice of life and so far this food (Destiny 2) is tasting dull or stale.

Yes please. Need something like challenge of elders to come back. But have matchmaking. Good rewards.
-
We haven’t had a proper horde mode done right since Gears of War 2.
-
Yeah, I mean this should have launched with the base game.
-
Honestly I can't wrap my head around how they didn't do this

ANYA REVIVE ME!

I'd be happy if Bungie brought back the prison of elders, court of Oryx and Archon's forge from Destiny 1. They could combine them all together and also add content from Destiny 2 into a challenge of elders style mode.
-
I was hoping the infinite forest would be an area where you'd go through random rooms, and every 5th room a boss, Poe style but no arena and each room has only 1 set of enemies. It'd go on infinitely, with each room always being different due to set pieces being in different spots and different enemies. Some rooms could have secret chests and the bosses drop rewards that grow in level the longer you go.
-
Yes. I will voice support on this every time it's parroted!
-
Any PVP map would do really. Put the Alamo where B is on most maps and defend it to the death.
-
It should be infinite!!!!!! Each few levels are a much higher difficulty, give more/better drops. I’m talking masterwork cores, new legendary and exotic mods, legendary shards, materials.....etc
-
Yes, please! This is a thought I've had too and it is absolutely a HUGE missed opportunity for the Curse of Osiris! Quite frankly, the Infinite Forest is totally underutilized (and quite boring). Nobody wants to run the exact same 2 story missions(/strikes) or 3 adventures over and over and over and over and over again. I want to see more of the landscapes, and see more use of the procedurally generated terrain. I want to go back to Mercury and not actually know what to expect instead of it being 1 of 2 things. A horde mode would be nice too, really anything to get more use out of the creative possibilities available from the Infinite Forest
-
When I first heard about the infinite forest I assumed that it would be a horde mode like archons forge or court of oryx. Turns out it is a complete waste of space. There is no reason to ever kill anything there unless it’s on adventure or campaign. Bad design.
-
So another prison of elders....? No Why not a horde mode like gears of war 2? That would be perfect.
-
Coming fall 2039.
-
When you said with good Loot? Bungie's idea is 2 tokens and a blue.
-
I'm glad this got bungies attention. I had this idea like a month ago, but I'm glad to see it being looked at :)
-
All Bungie has to do is bring back the Gjallarhorn!
-
God damn it, no. Look, it's just my opinion, but fxck horde modes. I know people like them, but in the state it's in right new now, Destiny is one big horde mode already. Load activity. Shoot waves of enemies that basically just stand there and shoot back. I wanted more from the infinite forest too. But no. God, I need less "mindlessly shoot enemies". That's what 90% of the game is. What we need is more depth to everything. And of course that's what they'll do. Of course that's what they'll vote. A random level where we can generate waves of enemies? That's What they want? Aw fxck that's easy. Yeah. Just uh, design a circular arena. Yeah, just waves of enemies. Hmm? Yeah. Modifiers I guess. Nah. No boss. Yeah, tokens. Well. Sure, a ghost that tracks arena kills. C'mon man.
-
How about they put endless thralls coming out of nowhere on the platforms.
