If bungie’s only goal is to create a game for profit sake
No company is ever in business only for money
If they are not in business to make money than they are a charity. Every business out there main goal is to make money, don't kid yourself. But a business that makes a crappy product, and or has horrible customer service will not last long, that is how a free market works. And right now Bungie is down in a hole having lotion lowered to them in a bucket.
Also only having paying customers give feedback and critique is nothing new. I was actually surprised it took them this long to enact that policy.
As for your list a few things. I do not want super OP weapons by themselves. I want weapons/armor/skills that when combined can create truly powerful playstyles. I don't want the days where it was the G-Horn and nothing else. However I take this exotic and combine it with this weapon and change my playstyle a little I'm a Freaking God.
On Random Rolls. I would rather have a fully fleshed out crafting/mod system that replaces the grind for random rolls. Not the crap we have now. I watched a video once about a weapon or a list of weapons in WoW were it could take 50 hours of game play just to finish grinding and crafting the weapon. That is what I want, but my background is RPG style games so I am biased on my opinion.

I went back to play a little of D1 this past weekend. Want to know the weapons I truly missed? Exotics like Outbreak Prime and Bad Juju....and the WoTM raid weapons. They weren't game-breaking weapons . But they were powerful, and unique weapons that were worth the effort to obtain..... I also miss the ability to craft BUILDS that actually have an impact on how the game plays.

I have gone back as well and played some D1, it is like night and day. But one of my favorite things to do when I got bored in D1 was to pick a weapon and try to create a build off it. Sometimes it worked sometimes it was just a fool's folly. Went into the WoTM a few weeks back with some clanmates and pulled out my You Can't Kill Me build on my TItan. Sunbreaker with Cauterise Eyasluna with Surrounded and Army of One Raid Sniper Dank Drinker Helm with Health on Orb Pick Up and Super Energy on Grenade Kills. Gloves with Hand Cannon Reloader Armamentarium for that extra grenade and increased armor when running a solar class. Boots with added agility with a void double down. I was a killing machine everything in that build worked off each other. I was clearing the right side at Voisk Phase 2 and also the mobs in the middle. There is nothing like this in Destiny 2, not even close.

Good post. Your first paragraph and point are pretty much what I was getting at. Companies make money. Companies also have to maintain customers or they can’t make money. I like the detail on rolls. I still do want a unicorn of a weapon that is so rare, but it helps make anyone a god once you acquired it. Ghorn while 2 levels under level wasn’t a guaranteed god killer, but it was still strong. Maybe make the shields as they are in D2 to where ghorn would function exceptionally well against solar shields. Give us hard to acquire elemental primaries, but for the love of god, don’t make them exotic. They could have stuck with making black spindle exotic and not ghorn and still had folks swap up their loadouts. I love the set specific perks that diablo puts out that makes you utilize different weapons and abilities. Give me a set of armor that lets swords do 25% more damage, or gives machine guns 100% more ammo. The main thing is, everyone is eventually going to go for what’s the fastest at doing something in a specific situation. The more random the rolls are, the more trial and error the player base would have with sets and weapons. Again, just like diablo.

What I would love is something I would do in Anarchy Online. There was a low level endgame called the Temple of the Three Winds. It was like a mini dungeon with bosses and stuff. I think the max level was 60. I would create Temple Twinks, low level characters that I would farm and craft stuff for to make them like Gods at level 60. This was not a simple task and not something everyone could do. I would farm for days even weeks to get the material to make Mantis Armor. I would then make custom implants just so I could equip that armor. Once the armor was on I would then create another set of implants to get the weapons on. Once done with that it was a balancing game to create a set of implants that would allow my Twink to use the weapons and armor but still give them the skills they needed. Was not uncommon for me to farm and grind for a month to make 1 character. I was squeezing level 120 to 160 implants into level 60 characters. Now I know we will never get that level of customization in Destiny. But even if we got 1/8 of that it would be light years better than what we have now.

Of course you're biased, just like everyone else lol. BUT! You brought up a great point about Random Rolls and it's grind. I believe Random Rolls should still exist, as I'd hate to feel like everyone else owning the same exact piece. However, I agree with what you said about grinding for Mods/Crafting materials to make a great piece of gear. Combine it with a certain playstyle of skill tree and BAM! I'VE BECOME LEGEND. Great feedback!
