Mario 64 hands down.
I couldn’t put that game down until I unlocked every damn star. And I did. It was glorious. I can still remember the end credits music.

Have you played Odyssey yet? I'd say Odyssey is the first truly worthy successor to Mario 64. 64 still wind, but Odyssey is close.
