No - people need to stop whining about something saying it needs to be nerfed just because they died to it a couple of times.

  • So you're telling me.... that the reason nearly every hunter in the crucible wears these boots is because they are balance? Items that are overused need nerfs, it means they are not balanced and that they are the clear pick for winning fights. Balance means there is a diverse set of exotics that are all viable. When there is an outlier it needs to be dealt with. And my suggestion included buffs, not just nerfs, so its more of a slight re-work.

  • That's what killed the fun in D1 PvP - everyone crying for nerfs because they saw a lot of people using it. I agree buffing other things would be nice. Not so much with the nerfs though.

  • That's the old bungie mentality right there. Everyone uses it so it must be OP. Must be nerfed. Maybe if nearly everything else wasnt total w.a.n.k to use people might change it up. Bring everything else up and watch people change there load out and tactics.

  • Exactly. Give people impactful play options...and variety will increase. Don't nerf everything into a bland, dull, and predictable same ness. The sandbox has been nerfed to such a horrendous degree that everyone is basically forced to play in the same stale ways.
Items that are overused need nerfs,
No, they don't.
it means they are not balanced
No it doesn't. It usually means that its ideally suited for the combat situations that players find themselves in. Usually because some OTHER aspect of the game is off-kilter. (In this case two of the three classes of Hunter and underpowered, and Hunter exotics and most power weapons SUCK in pvp) Right now Gunslinger and Arcstrider are relatively underpowered in PVP...and Gemini makes a very effective build for Nightstalkers. Because---of the changes to the gear system---one of the few ways to disrupt the team shooting of your opponents is to dominate the power ammo, and then sow chaos in their midst with invisibillty, Gemini and swords. Can it be frustrating to fight when going up against someone who is **really** good at it? YEP. Does it mean that the build is OP and needs to be nerfed? Hell, no. The game is in the state that its in right now because of this "Everything that is overused or that I find the least bit frustrating has to be nerfed" mentality. Stop complaining and ADAPT. The reason why Gemini is overused is because the rest of the Hunter exotics SUCK for use in PVP. Oh, and before you start talking about my having to "rely on crutches"..... I'm a WARLOCK main. They don't need a nerf. This game has too many -blam!-ing nerfs....and PVP has nearly been destroyed as a result.

I'm sorry you have your head so far up your arse you can't see the current meta caters to crutch playing. Im more than willing to bet you thought pulse nades were a problem but somehow can't apply that logic to this current cowardly meta. Fact is the radius of Gemini is too much it works through walls. Fact is the cooldown still enables the crutch user 20 seconds before the next invis . Fact is Gemini /invis grants far too many advantages with little to no setbacks , pvp statistics verify this. Fact is invis before during an after a dodge is being used aggressively and not as its necessarily intended, not to mention crouching in corners with a sword. Fact is it is OP and whether you're for or against Nerfs ... Introducing overpowered metas won't stop crutch users in exploiting these easy methods of abilities . The same skill player vs another of similar talent will loose the encounter if the balance is tipped in his or her favor. Bottom line. It needs a NERF.

  • My head isn't "up my ass". In fact, I'm the only person on this thread (so far) that isn't in that awkward position. Mainly because I don't play the same games over and over again. The players of Bungie shooters live in this silly little hothouse where they ruminate over a very specific...and narrow set of conditions. That first became clear to me when in D1 when the complaints over "Felwinter's Sniper" started. When the fact is----compared to most shotguns in most shooters----Felwinter's LIe was UNDERPOWERED. The shotguns in---for Example----Titanfall had TWICE the range and TWICE the killing power of even Felwinters....and yet NO ONE who played that game complained about shotguns being OP. Or they players who used them having to rely on "crutches". Why? Simple. Titanfall had a BALANCED sandbox with a TTK that made -blam!-ING SENSE relative to the speed of play and the speed of player movement. So---while I could stick a shotgun out the window of an urban map in TF---and OHK a Pilot who was across the street. I couldn't just bumrush someone from half a map away with a shotgun, and close to shotgun range before any of the game's multi-shot weapons could manage to kill me. Anyone DUMB enough to try that, wound up dead before they took their third step. Because the sandbox was balanced, TF weapons killed quickly...and kept the OHK weapons in check. So shotguns and snipers didn't become the defacto primary weapons. They became super-specialized weapons that you used for clearing out rooms and rooftops....or picking off careless Pilots who ventured from cover. ...and anyone who used them out in the main playspace were clear MASTERS of the art of movement, positioning, and closing on their opponents. Because if you weren't...you just died over and over and over again. While the skill FLOOR in Destiny is lower than in Titanfall because of the ridiculously underpowered primary weapons relative to player movement speed (still)....there are still a number of skills that need to be mastered if someone is going to play (well) with a sword in this game. The only reason why going up against someone with a sword is the least-bit frustrationg right now is being all the means of COUNTERING that playstyle once thei have gotten inside of that primary weapon TTK have been stripped out of the game. BECAUSE OF PRECISELY THE KIND OF SILLY COMPLAINING ABOUT PLAY STYLES THAT'S GOING ON RIGHT NOW. If this keeps up, we're going to be reduced to throwing ROCKS at each other....and thens some idiot will complain about THOSE being OP and being "crutches" too. The game is a SHOOTER. YOU ARE GOING TO DIE OF SOMETHING...AND AS LONG AS THE GAME GIVES YOU A MEANS TO COUNTER WHAT THE OTHER PLAYER IS DOING, it is waste of time...and more than an little childish....to obsess about wha the other guy is doing. Adapt....and move on.

You want me to adapt to a play style , ( which I have since day 1 mind you) But you must realize that given my current load out it doesn't really make much sense to run my Titan. Titans are vastly underpowered right now. What they lack in speed , other classes make up for. Shoulder charge is broke and not worth the effort and barriers ... What good is a barrier that forces the player to stand behind like an idiot and has been nerfed so that the opponent still gets a sliver of health and does not have much utility at all. Players just jump over them and have aerial advantage to gun you down mid air with sub machine guns and last hope. I should not have to jump on a Hunter to compete. Fact is yes you make a good argument about TTK and past Nerfs but you must realize the bias this community has had towards the classes they main. You might be at arms with Bungie about the sandbox changes , I don't disputes that ... But where is the responsibility of the community??? They alone jumped on every meta and exploit and can't fully blame Bungie for that. Oh and just so you know this is not my main account . I have atleast 5000 hours invested in Destiny 1 and God knows how much more in D2, I still love this game but the community needs to take some responsibility aswell as Bungie be this finger pointing is not getting us anywhere.

  • I’m a Warlorck main defending a play style mainly used by Hunters. I have no dog in the fight other than not wanting to see the game dumbed down any further, and even more play styles removed from the game. The game is in the state it’s in right now because too much of that has been done already.
