Do you donate your time and energy free of charge to help others? If so, what do you do? If not, why not?

Other than that, I'm also nursing my girlfriend's mother (or future mother-in-law, if you will) free of charge, although it's certainly straining my nerves again and again. She's wheelchair bound due to having Multiple Sclerosis, and it's in an advanced state. I lift her out of bed in the wheelchair and back in bed, I prepare food for her and do daily tasks she can't do anymore, like going to the store and such. I avoid doing certain tasks though that involve more privacy (washing etc.) or preparing medicine. Been doing that for almost 4 years now. I've been doing similar volunteer work in my past, working as a volunteer at a Home for the Elderly in the past, and in occupational therapy. EDIT: I should probably mention that nursing my girlfriend's mother is more or less a 24 hour job. I'm always on standby whenever she needs something, and I also get up at night to turn her around in bed, to prevent decubitus (bedsores). It's one of the main reasons why I can spend that much time playing video games or in this forum.
