I think it is obvious that I do volunteer work here on bungie.net. I consider it part of the topic since it does consume time and energy.
Other than that, I'm also nursing my girlfriend's mother (or future mother-in-law, if you will) free of charge, although it's certainly straining my nerves again and again. She's wheelchair bound due to having Multiple Sclerosis, and it's in an advanced state. I lift her out of bed in the wheelchair and back in bed, I prepare food for her and do daily tasks she can't do anymore, like going to the store and such. I avoid doing certain tasks though that involve more privacy (washing etc.) or preparing medicine. Been doing that for almost 4 years now.
I've been doing similar volunteer work in my past, working as a volunteer at a Home for the Elderly in the past, and in occupational therapy.
EDIT: I should probably mention that nursing my girlfriend's mother is more or less a 24 hour job. I'm always on standby whenever she needs something, and I also get up at night to turn her around in bed, to prevent decubitus (bedsores). It's one of the main reasons why I can spend that much time playing video games or in this forum.
