If you've played Oblivion and/or Skyrim, it's kind of cool to see how the game mechanics have changed over time, in terms of things like character progression, and skills. There's way more skills, like each weapon type has it's own associated skill, and the way you level up doesn't have some of the restrictions of the later games, so once you get to know how it works, you can really abuse it and get some huge stat gains, especially once you have lots of gold to throw at skill trainers. Also, if you're at all a fan of H.P. Lovecraft, you'll like it. There's been Lovecraft references and influences in the later games, but with Morrowind, the "Lovecraftiness" was a big part of the main story.
