Well that's all relative, but enough people complained that bungie took action and changed up the loot for IB, so no, not silly at all.

That change has nothing to do with diminishining the role of tokens...

No, but it has to do with making rewards more accessible. Something that a large section of the community has been vocal about, in part due to the token system.
