I am guessing you are looking to buy one of these?
The Tacoma is cooler looking and the most reliable out of the bunch.
The Explorer is also a very reliable vehicle and would be great if you and your friends were doing road trips. Very comfortable ride, but tan interior gets dirty very easy and is damned hard to clean.
-blam!- Lexus!! It is an overpriced Toyota. Buy a damn Toyota and save some money both on the sticker and in repair bills.
Focus is like driving a go-kart, small, fun and rough as a truck. Certain years have transmission problems, so watch out for that.

Have you had an Explorer before? I just bought one so naturally Logan has to ask #Offtopic to compare it to his car and our friends cars. I heard some complaints about the '06 transmission, but they fixes it in '07. I was worried about it being unreliable; my mom has a 2012 Explorer and it's a piece of junk. My uncle said the 4th gen were good cars, so I'm glad to see he isn't alone in that belief.

Yes, I have. What year model? Also, the engine and transmission can make a difference, obviously, lol.

Edited by dr obvious2535: 1/29/2018 1:19:16 AMMine is 2007 (the one in the poll) with the 4.0 L V6 and a 5-speed automatic with overdrive. What year did you have? Also, why on earth is the Lexus winning?
-
Sorry, I hit send on accident. Do you have the regular 4.0L V-6 or the SOHC 4.0? The Lexus is so high because most people are car stupid. As long as the thing runs and looks good, they do not care. So when you slap a special/high end badge on it, it becomes the one everyone wants. I owned a Lexus, never again.
-
I have the SOHC. If they had looked at the pictures of the Lexus, I think the results would be different.
-
With the SOHC, make sure you follow all the recommended service schedules. They are a strong motor, but more things can go wrong if not maintained properly. I have a buddy who put one in his little Ford Ranger and that thing can beat the 2003 style Mustangs in a race, lol.

Thanks for the tip. What year of Explorer did you have? I don't plan on racing my car much. 210 horsepower isn't a lot for a 2 1/4 ton car.

Edited by xxx: 1/29/2018 1:57:49 AMIt was a mid-90's. I think 94 or 95. It had a 4.0 L V-6, but not a SOHC, it was an OHV. Not as powerful, but a good motor.
-
I had a mid 90's Explorer. Not sure what year anymore. I had it for about 6 months, then I hit something in the road that broke my oil pan, lost all my oil and seized the motor up.
-
That would be the 2012 and 13 Focus. I have a 13. It's not as much a transmission issue as it is the dual clutch system they used. Once the reprogrammed the CUP the issue was fixed.

I could not remember the year, thanks Hoss! I did not want to give the wrong year. The only thing I do not like about the Focus, is the seats. I have shoulders as wide as a damn wall and those seats hit me in all the wrong places!
