Not surprised at all, even the devs said that they original "release date" (which was just a season), was not realistic. Personally i thought the delay should have been longer, but EA likely wants it out soon rather than later in order to capitalize on the mess destiny 2 is in right now (their biggest competitor at this time). I am glad to see that it has gotten a large boost in resources dedicated to its development though (which is what i figured the trade off would be for either no or little delay being allowed). Looking forward to actually trying out the game in either an alpha or when there is a beta (they said there would be a beta, but nothing about if there will be an alpha as of yet to my knowledge).

I honestly would rather have it out later and be largely flawless and filled to the brim with content rather than hastily put together and shipped out with bugs and whatnot.

So would most people at this point, but EA has said they wont allow for any more delays, but that could change. There has been a movement more so in recent years towards allowing for more delays, since there was a spree of games being released way to early. The idea was that companies had to keep their release dates or else the public would lose interest (which did kind of happen for a time), but then as more and more games came out broken and unfinished, the attitude changed, gamers made is clear they would much rather wait for a finished product. So hopefully EA and bioware are taking that lesson to heart, which is possibly why we havent heard anything about the game in a long time.

Based on how bug and error ridden Battlefield 4 was at launch, EA shouldve known that this would happen when you rush game development, and Bioware i think got their lesson when they not only repeated history by releasing a buggy product, but also killing the Mass Effect series... For now. My friends keep saying Andromeda was developed by a B-team at Bioware, but i couldnt find any information on that.

Bioware Montreal was the name. Prior to Andromeda their resume was making the ME3 multiplayer and working on the Omega DLC. Quite a short list hmm? They were originally a support studio more so than a primary head of development studio.

Andromeda was made by a sub part of bioware, it is actually a studio that was closed down after how badly andromeda went. I believe it was bioware montreal. So it wasnt a sub team of the main bioware studio, but it was essentially a off shoot studio. EA seemed to at least somewhat learn its lesson, since battlefield 1 was fairly bug free and very well made. And hopefully bioware will be very careful after losing an entire sub studio to their past mistakes.
