Tech reporter for wall Street just reported to Dow Jones, Destiny twitch views down 1.8 million views this month compared to last year. Constant bad press regarding the game, Inc lots of big content creators quitting the game, added to huge down trend of potential future earnings from microtransactions, will take a big chunk away from the money made from WW2. Not linked to the CEOs resignation, but you have to wonder, seeing as hecheaviky involved in Destiny from the outset and the contract was originally agreed by him.
From her tone, the future is bleak regarding keeping players happy, and the franchise is in doubt regarding voting on funding from Activision shareholders.
If Bungie were still feeling content, ignorant, arrogant know it alls , they aren't any longer.

Sorry mate, need more than a twitter account as a valid source. How about something like wall street journal, IGN or something more credible that twitter, a social media site.
-
So the investors approve how much money they’ll pour into any future Destiny development. I’m guessing they approved quite a bit after the success of D1. So the question is: Where did all the resources go? Why do we have a hollow shell of a game compared to Vanilla D1? Why’d the CEO of Activision get fired? Did the consumer get scammed?
-
This is why bungie needs to be praised. They are single handedly attempting to take down Activitision.
-
I gotta be honest...I think that bubble Bungie found itself to be comfortably and complacently in has finally popped. That article was like a rocket busting their Ward of Dawn. Hope they’re awake enough to stop trying to screw everyone over while they make these updates. They can no longer afford to be so petty anymore.
-
Destiny 2 is in a terrible place but seeing some of you guys posting stuff from those analysts and completely misreading it is starting to drain me. It won't damage their shares, it won't put them in panic mode and the sky isn't falling. All it means is the eververse isn't performing as well as Bungie thought it would.
-
With how much much Activision is making from all the CoD supply drops, it'll be a cold day in hell if Destiny is the reason Activision is losing money.
-
What kind of lameass individual watches other people play games rather than just playing themselves? Who gives a rats crap ass about streamers and twitch.
-
The lesson is never put your company on the stock market unless you’re a greedy bastard! 😀
-
Did you really need that analyst to tell you that the game is shit as it is, and people dont play it, dont stream it, dont watch streams of it, and there are not enough suckers left to buy enough lootboxes? They have this whole year to clear up this mess because Anthem is being delayed. Bad news is the second underwhelming "expansion" will be the next major event before the expensive real expansion hits. If they fk up even that there will be no audience left for Anthem to steal because Destiny 2 will already be in the trash can.
-
I would like to say that external criticism from people who do not play destiny or care enough about it kind pisses me off
-
Tbh, I wanted this to happen so both parties (activision and bungie) can wake up and change tactics
-
Op posts “it’s official” and then quotes lack of twitch streams and speculates loss of potential future revenue in micro transactions. Such good research!

I love how no one can read anything, unless it's reading into things that aren't there. The financial articles that have been coming out aren't regarding the sales of the game; those are over and done with a 8 million copies...at an average of $60-80 each, you do the math there. From a financial standpoint, Destiny 2 was a rousing success before release day. The articles are referring to live service sales, a.k.a. silver sales. By far, those are a lot lower than Bungie hoped and Activision wanted. It's not even on the companies, the gamer community as a whole is trending towards rejecting microtransactions in full-priced games. The offerings they have aren't very interesting, can be earned through play, and are fairly expensive for pure cosmetic items. So the EV sales of D2 are far behind those of D1. Activision was including projected live channel profits into their earnings prospectus, and now that they aren't there, they have to account for it out of other game sales. I can promise you the sky isn't falling, no one is getting fired, and it's not 'the glorious end' that a lot of people seem to think has to be coming...people have been thinking that since a week after the launch of D1. Not saying it can't happen, but if you start holding your breath on this one, you'll pass out, and might miss it when it does come. As a side note, this is why they were / are hiring a progression specialist for Eververse, to try and change the live channel sales model to be more successful.

You had us at "offical" and your last train wreck post about stock speculation. 😂😂😂😂 keep up the horseshit
-
They are lucky COD WW2 did so well. They might break even if they are lucky.
-
Definitely affecting their reputation as well.
-
Activision need to shuffle off their mortal coil, and disappear into gaming obscurity. It was only ever about the money with them, when it should have been about the games.
-
I don't know about that dude... yes stock price did drop, however it bounced back to where it was in less than 2 months... so we'll just have to wait and see
-
Destiny 2 is a pile of wank 💦 Greedy fuks I hope Activision burn
-
Cod WW2 is also nothing more than a mere disappointment. Next COD will have a lot fewer pre-orders because of this bad last instalment.

This is what happens when a good developer listens to streamers and NOT its player base. Streamer - dam it I got killed by a sniper, fusion rifle, shot gun. Answer - Bungie plz remove 1 hit kill weapons. Streamer - dam it I got killed by no skill super. Answer - Bungie plz reduce super ability. You see where I’m going with this? Now don’t get me wrong, I watch a lot of YouTube content and a lot of it I agree with, BUT and a big BUT, the majority of streamers will only recommend things that will improve their channel (ratings) most of those suggestions are bollox and hense destiny2, I honestly believe Bungie made the game to cater for streamers. These people are actually toxic for the game because they think they have superior quality over the everyday joe, when in actual fact, it’s the everyday joe that kept destiny alive. My point is, listen to the actual community NOT the self proclaimed gods of games aka the streamers.

Edited by Dezzie19: 1/24/2018 2:44:26 PMLove reading the fans in denial below, even analysts are warning Activision will take a hit due to D2 failing. Here's the proof. https://destinytracker.com http://www.cnbc.com/amp/2018/01/23/activisions-destiny-2-is-struggling-right-now-cowen-analyst.html

Bungie got what they deserved for catering to casuals.
-
And people said Anthem would be the Destiny killer, boy were they wrong, by the time it comes out Destiny will be dead and buried. Death by suicide. lol

Yeah yeah
