I've legitimately never met someone who denies a distinction between the two. It's just that regardless of the severity of the act, it's still massively damaging to someones confidence, and their mental health in general. People also have varying degrees of tolerance. I see the point being made as moot considering what the #metoo movement stands for, standing up for yourself and others no matter who you're up against.
