HERE’S WHY BUNGIE GIVES NO EFFORT

First of all, let me make one point clear. It’s important later on. Bungie is a company, and a company’s job is to make money. The leaders of said company can be nice, friendly, and heartwarming to their customers, but they can also be cold, calculating, and deaf to their customers. Bungie is the latter for one big reason that I have yet to see anyone talk about: Destiny has no real competitors. Hear me out: Destiny is pretty much a space-based shooter with RPG and MMO elements, right? But no other game right now quite plays like it. No other game has this much space magic in it. It’s a unique experience. Now, I know what everyone is typing right now: “But what about Warframe?” Calm down. I’m getting there. The only game that even plays similarly to Destiny is Warframe, and while it does have micro transactions, Warframe is free-to-play. You don’t have to pay a dime if you don’t want to. This is why Bungie does not see Warframe as a competitor for Destiny. They think that because the creators saw fit to put a “Free” price tag on their game, they are lesser creators. Like I said earlier, Bungie is a company. Therefore, Bungie is going to try their hardest to make the most money off of Destiny in whatever ways possible. Since Destiny has no “real” competitors in their eyes, they can take their sweet time doing whatever they want. They are only trying to keep you here through empty promises of glory down the road. They don’t put in effort because they don’t need to put in effort. The game they have created is so unique that people will flock to it on their own. However, there is good news in all of this. I don’t know much about Anthem, but what I have heard gladdens me: it’s basically Destiny with a few differences. This is fantastic news! Destiny (and therefore Bungie) will finally have a competitor in the market! They’ll have to step up their game if they don’t want to lose their entire player-base to Anthem. If Bungie decides to not do anything about keeping their players from Anthem, then everyone will just flock to the game that has the company with the best reputation in this area: BioWare. At least, they have the best reputation in this field because it’s their first foray. To wrap it all off, I’m going to just say this: actions speak louder than words. You can complain about how Bungie won’t do anything about the state Destiny is in, but if you still play Destiny, Bungie knows that you’re still hooked. If you still buy things from EverVerse or still buy the DLC, Bungie knows you’re still with them. As soon as you stop buying things and stop playing the game, you have contributed to the cause of demanding that Bungie improves their game. Once enough people are leaving, Bungie is bound to delve into the community to figure out what’s wrong. TL;DR: Read it. It’s long, I know, but if you’re too lazy to read what I wrote, then get out.
