UPDATE: Lost Sector Rewards
We're aware of player reports about Lost Sectors not granting rewards. There was a throttle added to address an issue in the previous Faction Rallies where players were earning 500 Tokens per hour.
The patchnote concerning this change has been updated to correctly state that all Lost Sector chests are subject to this throttle.
Right now if a player opens more than 2 Chests in a 10 minute period they will not receive additional rewards from Lost Sector chests for 10 minutes. This does not prevent players from completing milestones related to Lost Sector chests.
Cheers,

Ah another bungie “hotfix” that does more breaking than fixing. How does the concept of reward cooldowns get approved in a loot based game? It’s practically begging for players to lose interest in playing. I did the token cheese myself, mostly because any “events”, the dlc even, require you to retread old content that we have done hundreds of times for mostly uninspiring loot. It was however, an exploitative method. But there’s more sensible ways of fixing it. How about linking the token reward with the killing of the lost sector “boss” I.e. 1 “cache key acquired” = 1-2 faction tokens from the lost sector chest. This allows you to grind as intended but doesn’t throttle rewards unfairly. But I guess that hotfix is too hard to make for bungie.
