We all expected Destiny 2 to expand upon the closing out of Destiny 1. With "Age Of Triumph" being the final update of Destiny 1, we naturally assumed Destiny 2 would take all that its predecessor had evolved into, and become an even greater evolutionary classic. But, as we all unfortunately had to find out the expensive way, Destiny 2 is slowly crawling its way back to Year 3 of Destiny 1. Albeit with better graphics.
So, let's compare shall we? Below is a link with an itemized comparison of the 2 games. After viewing, ask yourself, "What exactly did I buy on September 6, 2017? Destiny 2 or Destiny The Prequel?"

The only gameplay improvements Destiny 2 made were clambering onto ledges and having a map. Everything else was a downgrade, in my opinion.
-
The game should have been released on April the 1st it would have made more sence
-
An 80$ beta, and a great one to What do you mean this isnt a beta?
-
This is what you bought.
-
We bought garbage. Straight up garbage.

I agree - I have been playing on Playstation since the beta of D1; I went from the PS3 to the PS4 with this game. Unfortunately, real reason that D1 had to "end" and them to start again with D2 - is because they wanted to bring D2 out on the PC as a platform. But they're lazy. Without recoding and remaking the entirety of Destiny's 3 years of game FOR the PC, then they can't have the consoles playing ALL of destiny uninterrupted. My guess is that they'll be rehashing and re-releasing content as time goes on - over D2's lifespan. Its a shame - because they sold me on this game as being a 10 year game with an ever-expanding campaign. Not a series of sequels.

Destiny .5 - The one before Destiny 1...
-
We bought an illusion. I loved D1 so much, I bought into D2 blindly. Biggest lesson learned. Next go around, I'll wait for the game to be sold as a collection (finished) for $30.

A failed social experiment.

You bought a beta. Duh. Just like destiny 1. A $100 beta. Thanks for testing. I’ll just get this out of the way now. “Sorry our beta isn’t working as intended” lol.
-
Probably just lunch. I bought D2 months before its release date.
-
If you expected D2 to expand on the culmination of 3 years of work, you were blind to reality. It's been widely known that the teams that build the games are separate.
-
A lot of the items on your list are opinion based and can't be backed up by fact. But that doesn't really matter since the mechanics of D2 regressing fits perfectly with the story of the Red War. Of course we lost a ton of technology, the Cabal nearly wiped us out. It just fits.

"Don't worry, Destiny 2 is an old build, of an old build of a Beta. When we finally get around to releasing the final version of Destiny 2, you'll be amazed with all of the progress we make in the three-plus years it takes us to finish the game!" ~ Bungie, circa January 2018

A very good lie.

Hookers and blow
-
We bought the cut content of the original d1 changed up a little to make it seem different.
-
A video game?
-
I’m not fond of the state of this game either, but that wasn’t a very good spreadsheet. Some of what you said was extremely specific, ignored some things, and just took things that we already know people complain about and put them in a spreadsheet.

Edited by hunting the void: 1/16/2018 12:40:38 AMImo a really nice DEMO... bungie makes players pay to be beta testers
