Dear Community and Bungie,
This is how Bungie keeps the sheeple in line. Shotgun blast info after the holidays when you blatantly ignored cries from your community about the Eververse and make it appear as though you are "listening, and doing." This is Bungie using psychology to their benefit, take a childs favorite toy away until they kick and scream, and then give it back, they will be happier than a pig in sh!t. Some of us are wise to your tactics now and the damage has already done Bungie.
Some of the things talked about are great, such as the Crucible changes, crucible "Glory" is roughly the same system that was used for Halo 2's multiplayer. Additionally bringing back "playlists" that were already in D1 at the end of year 3 is all well and good, but don't pat your backs too hard. Not addressing being able to dismantle multiple shaders at a time until fall 2018 or after is pure laziness, and how have you not changed shaders to be permanent instead of a one time use is beyond me.
Bungie we are tired of your empty promises. We understand that you are a business and we appreciate your new "attempt" at being transparent, so why not put up the daily player count since we're on this new journey of you not crapping on us after getting our hopes up. For those protectors of Bungie out there who look down upon anyone who has a bad word to say about them, open your eyes man! This is not just some anomaly that happens with this company, it's been happening since Halo and Halo 2. If you don't believe me just check out the article by Steve Haske called, "The Complete, Untold History of Halo."
I like most of your fans love the universe you have created for Destiny, it's awesome. You just need some actual leadership over there. You have a devoted loyal fan base, but we are tired of broken promises and shady business practices. The lore you created with this game is amazing, and the content creators on YouTube such as My Name is BYF, Myelin Games, Destiny Guides are amazing. But you also need to listen to constructive criticism from content creators like Dark Side Royalty Lore, Bearded Grizzly, YongYea etc. I used to play D1 exclusively and nothing else, but with D2 I find myself playing other games because of the way you have handled the second installment of this franchise.
We want a true return to form for D2 and it looks like you are starting to trend towards that glide path which is great. What about tuning the subclasses back to D1 to make the game more diverse, random weapon roles, and going back to Primary, Special and Heavy as D1 had it. Most of us feel as though you guys had D1 nailed at the end of year 3 and were confused and off-put by the seeming regression of these things in D2. Why....? To gain a broader player base? That's all good and great, but it takes away from the players who enjoy tuning their Guardian towards a certain activity or game mode. These are just my thoughts.
Sincerely,
DR Iceman0186

1 ReplyD2 has never been great. It falls somewhere in the "Meh" category (in my opinion). Can they make Destiny as a franchise great? Sure, if they can decide WTF they want the game to be. Is it a looter shooter? Is it an MLG-wannabe PVP game? They have no idea at this point... so, they'll just start working on D3 (or have already started), and they'll scrap all of it this time 2019, and start over again...
