I have a pretty minor fix for D2 PvP. Since 6v6 will return and a ranking system will come, they can modify the existing structure and make the competitive audience come back (possibly).
6v6 would become the new casual mode with the existing weapon damage to HP relationship intact. With game modes: Clash, Control, Rift
4v4 would become the new competitive mode. Main difference (and minor tweaks) have it be limited shield (D1 health TTK). On the Directory it would read Shield level: limited ( normal for 6v6). Game modes: Countdown, Survival, Skirmish, Control(?). Ranked would fit here.
Rumble will have to paths Casual and Competitive (ranked) with the same modifiers.
Trials would automatically be Shield Limited (also ranked)

Without changes to TTK, movement speed, and ability recharge rate the only difference between 6v6 and 4v4 Crucible will be 4 more players camping and team shooting. Once you stop and CAREFULLY read the Barrett update you will see that nothing of substance is actually slated to change for gameplay until the fall expansion.... which costs money.
