It’s a sequel but it changed to many aspects that made D1 great, so it makes sense to bring back what made Destiny fun.
I've never understood why they changed so much for D2. Everyone loved D1, and it was refined to be a pretty great game over the years. Ok, so the D1 universe was more or less destroyed by the Cabal, but that doesn't mean all the mechanics, vendors, and planets have to be removed or changed, does it? I was expecting D2 to be the continuation of D1, after the Cabal wrecked us. No more tower, no more tower facilities or vendors. Ok. But realistically, wouldn't we have taken what we could with us, and re-established ourselves somewhere else (like the farm), and tried to get back to normal as much as possible? Why change so much? I would have loved D2 if they just reset everything from D1, but still had all those old raids, planets, and activities available, but changed the to post-apocalypse status. Planets look different, areas destroyed, new areas open, etc. Leave the vault the way it is, leave the weapon system as it was, that kind of thing. There would have been plenty of room for the "new" Destiny, without completely ruining what made the old Destiny great.
