Bungie should move all of the exotic eververse loot (with the exception of emotes) out of eververse and into the game. Make them random drops from activities or even specific quest related drops. Put them in lost sectors or connect them to adventures, and make those activities relevant in some way. Put them in endgame activities like nightfalls or the raid to give people prestige items to grind for like in d1. Hell, put them in strikes as a low drop chance so there’s a reason to do strikes at all. Right now people just grind public events for xp to get these items from eververse. First of all, it’s a testament to how shallow this game is, that cosmetics are among the more meaningful loot to grind for. The only things that have real gameplay reasons for grinding are weapons and mods, and the grind for either isn’t nearly as long as anything in d1. That leaves cosmetics as the remaining top grind and that’s just a sad state for the game to be in. Secondly, these exotic ships and sparrows and ghosts have too much connection to the lore, and are too visually superior to comparable gear, to be just throw into a microtransaction store. They should be rewards for doing something in the game, not just a random lottery pull after you played public events for a few hours or paid a few bucks. Putting these items behind actual game activities will make them more meaningful, and give people a reason to do more than just public events.
I don’t think microtransactions have a place in a full price, paid dlc game, at all, but this is a more specific, reasonable suggestion. I have multiple problems, beyond this, with how eververse is handled as a system, and how it permeates into the rest of the game. For those reasons, #removeeververse
