For the record: I read both the original Reddit post and Jason's clarifications to his quotes and here's what I can come up with.
So first off; you're telling me that Destiny 2 underwent a huge reboot a little over a year before it was released and changed a lot of things with the core game. Gee, where have I heard that before? At least we know why we couldn't carry over our loot in from D1 to D2: Bungie didn't have any room while they were carrying over all their mistakes from D1.
As for the "making content is hard" quote. Yes, this quote (according to jason) was said during The Taken King expansion. However, seeing the state that D2 is in currently as well as the increasing rise of Eververse; I think it's safe to assume that Bungies attitude hasn't changed much since that quote.
No matter how hard I try, there will always be that little part of my brain that still believes that Bungie can make Destiny 2 great. But if Bungie just wants to keep hiding behind these paper thin excuses; well then they might as well pull the plug on this game now cause they're only prolonging the inevitable. At this point, Bungie dosent even deserve to call themselves a triple A games studio.
