It was a rushed product. But that is true of EVERY AAA game that has to go through a major-publicly owned publisher in this day and age. They have shareholders pressuring them to maximize profits, and gamers who are unwilling to wait the 4 or 5 years that the development of a game like Destiny 2 probably really needed. The point is that this is not a problem that is unique to Bungie....and Yong Yea's work usually makes little-to-no effort to conduct a balanced or objective discussion on his chosen topics. He is what I've come to call an "advocacy journalist". Someone who pretends to be a journalist, but is instead has a clear ideological agenda, and is an advocate for a very particular point of view. In his case the narrative of the victimized gamer who is struggling for the purity of gaming against evil, greedy corporations trying to screw them over with microtransactions and poor products. Advocacy has its place. But it does everyone a disservice when it tries to present itself as objective.

Poor Bungie...it seems all evil people disguise theirselves as journalists just to make bad things to poor Bungie... ARE YOU FKN KIDDIN ME? Your delusional lemming-like fanboy behaviour is just unreal! If i wouldn't knew better i would assume you're in a one-horse-race competition to win planets stupidity award...but somehow i start to believe more that it could be you in disguise...a Bungie sleeper out to extinguish the fire, when needed... Yong Yea = Satan hahaha LMFAO! We're talking here about guys that SELL you lazy a** work, MOSTLY also resell old stuff, using old exotics to fluff content, charge you for it triple and quadruple and on top lock out people of content they paid vanilla! Dev's that throttle XP, put already paid content on EV just to have you pay again! Again...ARE YOU FKN KIDDIN ME?? For real, your whole bullcrap of trying to make them look like the innocent victims and everyone else just bad, just -blam!-ing pi** me off! A million dollar company does NEVER need customers to find apologies for them, ffs!

  • Right, because individual people never have unsavory agendas. Only corporations do. Let me give you a bit of a reality check. If EA and Bungie are what make up your notions of what bad corporate actors look like. You’ve lived a sheltered life. Also if you think that YouTubers like Yong Yea are above pandering to gamer outrage, and sense of victimhood in return for clicks and in return for money.... Then you are painfully naive. Because the same motivations are in play for both...and right now gaming related channels on YT have been struggling financially for nearly a year because of Adpocalypse and the almost arbitrary demonetization of videos. The world isn’t divided into white hats and black hats. Gamers aren’t always good guys, and corporations aren’t always bad guy. The world doesn’t work that way.

p.p.s. to me, what you do isn't any different...trying to distort truths in favor of bungie, discrediting evil YT'ers in favor of Bungie and i already told you why i think you do^^ however, as said, doesn't change the fact that Bungie is the greediest gaming company today^^ and what's even more funny is they are even too stupid to be so^^ trying to lock ppl out of content as they did EVER and forget the thing with the trophy hahahaha lmfao^^ that's so incredibly stupid^^ and now they come back and play the good guys and praise theirselves how much they realized they were wrong hahaha^^ when the only reason is that ppl actually had a right this time (!!) to ask for refunds, instead as in the past^^ and then we have also bungie sleepers like you....disguised forum users trying to save their reputation^^ lmao! however, couldn't care less for you and just glad, that today many more have awoken of their dream and see very clearly what's going on and what kind of company they were following ,)

  • p.s. even the biggest YT'er idiots using people's rage for clicks can be right on some things from time to time, right?^^ and i believe that people loke yong, skill up and a few more (that i'm not even following and usually don't care about) seem to have it nailed perfectly this time^^ they might be d****, but doesn't change facts ,)

  • It's funny that you want to teach me a thing or too, as from i've ever read by you so far, to me, you definitely not in any position to tell me anything^^
The world isn’t divided into white hats and black hats. Gamers aren’t always good guys, and corporations aren’t always bad guy.
And yes, i know that very, very well^^ And it also doesn't need a genius to know where Bungie is and what brought them into the position, where many people are became sick of them today^^ So, i guess we all know very well, where we find Bungie today :) Although, that's nothing you'd ever admit by following your agenda of a hopeful future with Bungie sunshine, unicorns and rainbows :D

  • Not enough time! Who are you kidding? Bungie had 4-5 years for D2 the developers started before D1 was released. To top it off D2 uses the same exact basic concepts as D1. If anything they downgraded D1 for D2. So what did they spend ALL THEIR time on between D1 release and D2 release? Nerfing D1 in every aspect, catering to pvp players, Tweaking game mechanics etc etc. They had plenty of time to produce a far better game then D2 especially considering they already had the basic concepts from D1. There’s absolutely no excuse for their incompetence. Maybe instead of latte breaks, gaming breaks, destiny parties etc etc they could’ve been focusing their time 110% on the development of D2. This game would’ve topped D1. Seriously what a disappointment to open up D2 and find it’s just like D1 except worse. No new enemy characters, same graphics, same weapons (less powerful) no good loot, no raid gear etc etc. I’m sorry but bungie flat out ripped us off! Look back at D1 and all the complaints there was especially with the dlc’s. Now we’re here with D2 and it’s like Groundhog Day except in D1 we got a raid with the dark below dlc. This curse of Osiris is garbage for $19.99! Bungie is a shady ass money grabbing corporation using the original D1 design and story team as their cash cow. Ever since they left D1 suffered and it definitely shows their lack of ingenuity, dedication, imagination, experience etc etc in D2. 90% of D1 was held back due to D1’s creator resigning because Activision wanted to cut content for profits and micro transactions. Every DLC in D1 was part of the original game, but Activision wanted to cut the game apart to make profits. When playing D1 through the entire game it’s obvious, we used to get stuck in glitches. These glitches were areas of every DLC we ended up paying for. There were enemies, ghost etc etc as if it was the active game itself. We used to all wonder why the content seemed unfinished or where’s the rest of the game. As one DLC was released after another it became very clear as to what happened. Now that D2 is out, it proves this even more so. There’s parts of D2 that should’ve been in D1 plain and simple. I think they removed a fraction of the original D1 to carry over into D2 but claiming it’s a separate game, yet it’s not. Then to not even be able to carry over any of D1 into D2 is just STUPID! Like I said bungie doesn’t have any talented designers left.

  • See the DTR Podcast with Jason Schrier. The one that talks about Destiny 2 basically undergoing a re-boot in early 2016 after there was the major leadership shake up at Bungie and that Destiny 2's release would be delayed a year.

  •
It was a rushed product.
At least we can agree on this. lol
They have shareholders pressuring them to maximize profits, and gamers who are unwilling to wait the 4 or 5 years that the development of a game like Destiny 2 probably really needed.
Okay, maybe this too. This is the reason why Call of Duty, Madden Football never really improved over the years. New titles every year just mean more of the same. That's why if I see Destiny 3 come out this year, I won't buy it.
The point is that this is not a problem that is unique to Bungie....and Yong Yea's work usually makes little-to-no effort to conduct a balanced or objective discussion on his chosen topics.
Yeah, but it was entertaining. He's probably the harshest D2 critic I've heard yet. It doesn't matter to me, because I made up mind about this game back in October.
